Wife from Karasjok, 1882
Something I've never quite understood about Skam
Let’s get one thing straight first:
• I am specifically talking about Oslo which is near the bottom of Norway and not Karasjok on the Finnmark plain
I don’t understand how the fuck some of the characters in Skam can wear five layers of pretty heavy clothing and not sweat like you ran a fucking marathon in 90 degrees F (32.2 degrees Celsius) weather. Like I get that Oslo gets cold…but not that cold.
Right now, they’re temperature is around the 24 degrees Fahrenheit (-4.4 degrees Celsius) mark. In 24 degrees Fahrenheit, I am in a short sleeve T-shirt and jeans when I go outside. There record low, which by the way was back in 1942, was -14.8 degrees F (-26 degrees Celsius). At -14.8, I would be in a light fleece jacket if I were to go out and play in the snow.
So what I’m wondering is how does one wear five some layers of clothing when it’s not even that cold? As a person who has experienced -60 degrees F (-51.1 degrees Celsius) before, Norway (except for a few areas like the Finnmark plain which have gotten down to -60 degrees F) has not experienced cold cold.

Sieidi; Sami sacrificial stone on the mountain range between Alta and Karasjok, northern Norway
Norwegian soldiers from 2. Bergkompani with pathfinder and local guide Per Nilsen Gaup from Karasjok. He was a reindeer guardian in Børselv.
Many Norwegian Sami raindeer herders escaped the forced evacuation the fall of 1944 by fleeing into the highlands towards Sweden and Finland with their herds. They could therefore provide allied soldiers with fresh reindeer meat and assist with transportation and guiding.
Karasjok, Finnmark, Norway
The flame is important to the orginal peoples of Norway as it can be of help and a hindrance. There are three flames to represent the three people groups of the municipality, the Sami, the Norwegians, and the Kvens
