why does karen always have to be the one calming frank down even in hallucination scenes? why does frank keep projecting his wife onto her? where is this even going? what is the point of this relationship narratively?

is the endgame supposed to be karen leaving matt for her “real impossible love” frank? frank screaming every 2 episodes while karen stands there trying to emotionally regulate him?
