Rereading Storm Front (unfortunate title) and it's pretty clear that the dichotomy between Harry's narration and the reality of the situation has been there since the very beginning. He thinks Murphy is his friend and that she finds his antics endearing when, in fact, he's constantly disrespecting her for her gender and stature. Like from her perspective he's a misogynistic bully who is just BEGGING for a comeuppance. Sure, she's out of line when she arrests him (especially with the police brutality) but he totally had it coming and over the next couple books you can see his behavior improve, even if he never quite realizes the root of the problem.
