Emma's boyfriend breaks up with her on a Tuesday. It's not like she was expecting him to propose or anything, but they'd been getting pretty serious and she'd been decently happy with him.

"I'm sorry Emma, but I'm staring law school in the fall, and I need to be able to focus," he says over dinner at the overpriced restaurant he'd dragged her to.

"Besides, if I'm going to be a senator by the time I'm 35 I need a girlfriend with a much less...scandalous background," he finishes with a condescending smile.

Your mother’s panties spontaneously combust the moment he walks in the door, setting off the fire alarm and pissing your dad off right away. Your folks continually try to hint that he’s not dressed appropriately by asking how he isn’t getting a chill with so many buttons undone. He has an earring and keeps making lewd innuendoes. After he leaves, your father goes, “Was he wearing makeup?” At least your little brother thinks he’s cool, but mostly just because he's dressed like a pirate.
