This is my jam.

For my piles of end-of-semester homework and maybe for underpants dancing later.

In the spirit of things, I've been feeling pretty universal and recurrent in the same way that stimulants can make you feel a lot more smoothly cyclical, and discover yourself to be a well-oiled collection of moving parts and whirring gears--something important happens each day even if each period of time follows its own pattern, turn after turn, and I'm the master of the infinite bounce-back (I've never felt so consistently determined and capable, all while cheerfully convinced that in the grand scheme of things none of it matters. Which is as good a reason as any to be happy.). But also a bit like a written-diarrheamachine calibrated to "business law: use as many run-ons as possible." Feels good to indulge the equally long-winded but thematically antithetical imaginative introspection impulse.

Still love Titan A.E. and somewhat cheesy early naughts alt rock (OR TRIP HOP. WONDERS ALOUD IS THAT MORE LEGIT?) despite all my attempts to develop more mature tastes. Not sorry.

Splashdown is one of the greatest unknown bands ever

"Karma Slave" from the scene in Titan A.E. where they rescue Akima from the traders is just the beginning. Everything they have on Spotify is great and I've found their EP Redshift and their LPs Blueshift and Possibilities and it is all FLAWLESS. If you like electronic, trip hop, pop, rock, or world music I cannot recommend them highly enough. It's so fucking sad they're not together anymore, they could've been one of the great bands of the 2000's.
