“ The compliment is appreciated. “  He receives Lucas’ compliments with a gracious smile, even if he does find them just a tad vulgar.  They come from a well meaning, if deluded place.  He can imagine what it says about the mans psyche if he continues to make advancements upon individuals killing him over and over, day in and day out.  “ I was a surgeon, at one point, but more recently, I was a therapist. “

Lucas makes him uncomfortable.   He’s the only survivor who actively seeks him out in their downtime -- and Eddie has no idea how to respond to it.  He’s uncomfortable with the heat that flushes up the back of his neck, turning pallid cheeks scarlet when Lucas plops down beside him on the log and begins to quiz him on things -- and asking personal questions intermittently. 

At some point, Eddie stops really listening -- there’s a spiral of self - loathing that occurs in his head and all he can say, interrupting lucas mid-question is: “ Does my face not frighten you ... ? “

Ash looked at the younger man and narrowed. “ Yeah maybe....But all my friends die...I either kill them or they get killed. It doesn’t matter.” He rubs his hands against his face. “ I don’t want friends anymore kid...I just want people to stop dropping like fucking flies when I’m around...I can’t even go to a damn grocery store with out deadites wanting my ass.”
