Hi hello yes checking in just to say
I GOT A JOB.
I start next month. It’s still in space stuff. I am so relieved.
Hopping on real quick to say HI HELLO and thanks to everyone that's been reaching out. I'm not dead or trapped in another dimension, but life hit me like a ton of bricks last month.
Turns out being FUNemployed is all fine and dandy until your husband gets laid off. Also, after getting my first migraine that lasted two weeks and getting a full neurological exam and a CT scan before we lost healthcare (yay 'Murica), I am just stressed. Who would have thought?
Anyway, I have finally started looking for work again (and felt like looking for work, which is progress I think), but it turns out the aerospace job market sucks right now. Not a lot of jobs, and a LOT of people looking. Husband has a few promising options (I should have gone into software apparently).
We're keeping it moving. I may still be intermittent on here, but working on popping up more here and there. It's been a bit more survival mode, but we're still swimming.
Thanks to all of you that have been on here checking in. All good, but a weeeeee bit stressed.
Because I'm on a plane with time to kill, I am channeling my inner @lady--kenobi and swinging the bat today.
There were a lot of great lines in the latest episode of The Bad Batch, but the one I haven't been seeing getting a lot of discussion is where Tech tells Omega that Echo made a decision, just like Crosshair did, and he has to respect that.
AGAIN, CROSSHAIR MADE A DECISION, AND THEY RESPECTED IT.
He wasn't abandoned on Kamino; he made a choice to stay there. And his choice resulted in him being there for 32 rotations.
Decisions have consequences, and Crosshair faced those. His brothers allowed him to have agency, and that's where he is now, because of decisions HE MADE.
I really would like this to be the end of the discourse where everything bad happens to Crosshair and the universe is against him rather than he made bad decisions and faced the consequences of those decisions.
HAPPY AHSOKA DAY TO ALL WHO CELEBRATE!
Reminder that not everyone can watch the episodes right when they air, so for the love of everything holy, PLEASE REMEMBER TO TAG YOUR SPOILERS. I personally will be using #ahsoka and #ahsoka spoilers for anything I post.
A lot of us have been waiting for this show for FOREVER, so remember to be courteous and not ruin the viewing experience for people. I myself may not be able to watch immediately (currently getting my dad through a surgery), and if I get something spoiled, I WILL HUNT YOU FOR SPORT (respectfully).
Also, there is NOTHING wrong about hyping yourself up, especially on a website that thrives on sharing content. There’s a reason self-recs are HIGHLY encouraged for Fandom Friday.
Hell yeah, show me your pencil drawings on a post-it that you doodled during a boring meeting. Send me your headcanon about an obscure moment, even if you’re the only one that thinks that. Stand on a soapbox and read aloud every sentence you write. I WANT IT ALL.
This fandom thrives on encouragement and creativity, and there is SO MUCH of it on here. Some folks are new and still learning, and some have been here for years, and everyone is just as valuable to the community.
So take your toxic shit back to the Fandom Menace comment section or get onboard, because around these parts, we’re respectful of one another and get excited about every scrap of art and writing that gets put out there.
A random thought on this fine Sunday:
Caduceus Clay would make an incredible Jedi Master.
Feel free to discuss.

This is a reminder for all the new people suddenly reading my stuff: Please interact with it with more than just likes. I'm stoked to see new people going through my Master List and enjoying my work, but likes do nothing on Tumblr, so if you're enjoying my writing enough to like every part of a fic, please share it or even leave a comment or something. The likes are so passive and really don't convey much or help spread the fic around.
My personal policy on this blog is that I block spam likers that don't interact with my work in any other way. So please, for my fics (and any others that you consume), if you enjoy it enough to like every part, please reblog it and/or leave a comment.
I’m just now realizing I never really said it, but I’m on a sporadic hiatus (is that a thing?) because I’m on a long vacation! I’ll be back in a few weeks (and will likely take one more week off for Fandom Friday to get over the jet lag), but if my replies/posts seem sporadic, that’s why!
In the mean time, please make sure you go give your favorite artists and writers plenty of love, even without a formal Fandom Friday, and definitely feel free to spam my inbox with submissions for when I get back!
