I think one of the most fascinating similarities between chimpanzees and humans is that chimpanzees also have serial killers. In the Kasakela community there was a mother-daughter duo named Passion and Pom who killed and ate at least ten infants. Passion was described as having a domineering and aggressive personality and being an unnaturally indifferent mother. When Pom had a child of her own, she was super careful with him around her mother. Pom and her brother Prof also comforted and supported their four year old brother Pax when Passion died which likely stopped him from having any psychological issues as an adult. Unlike Flint, a chimpanzee who was never properly weaned, possibly killed his own infant sister out of jealousy, and died of depression three weeks after his mother died.
