Dislikes: Bullies, liars, people who don't respect boundaries, fruit flies, ants, the desert/overheating

Clothes: mostly sweaters or nice blouses with a variety of jeans, trousers, or skirts. loves loves loves dresses but only have a few that look as good as they feel. sticks with neutrals, the only colors would be blues, greens, or deep red/purple.

Hair: usually half-up, half-down, always very messy and can get rather frizzy if not attended to vigorously. messy buns also make frequent appearances, and on days where nothing is working, it's common to see either one or two braids.

Shoes: total spectrum swivel -- either converse of various colors (mainly black or white), knee-high boots OR cowboy boots, or pumps (favorite brand is kelly & katie).

~Background~

Born and raised in the United States, everything looked perfect in Kasey's life from the outside looking in. Well-to-do family, respectable siblings (besides, you know, the occasional fight). Good grades, well-rounded extra curriculars. But something was always... off inside her. Look too closely, and the cracks would become clear. Parents who handled every minor inconvenience for her, never giving her the chance to learn from her own mistakes; siblings who were battling their own inner demons and didn't seem to notice hers; and that ever-present feeling of loneliness, the one that haunts your soul and never truly leaves. A girl who seemingly had everything... had no one. No one wanted to get to know the shy, quiet girl who looked at you as if she actually saw you. No one wanted to be seen that way.

It took a family trip to Japan for Kasey to finally feel as if she belonged somewhere. So, upon graduating high school, she immediately shipped back to Japan to try and recapture that awe and sense of completeness she felt when they'd visited not too long ago, something she hadn't felt anywhere besides her grandparents' side.

With a little help from her parents, she was able to do just that. She studied hard at school, earned a degree in business, and with the small inheritance her grandmother left her, she opened her dream shop called "The Apothecary," wherein she sells plants, flowers, herbal remedies, and teas (and, eventually, after much begging from her clientele, she expands to coffee as well). The Apothecary became a place for the outcasts and wanderers, where everyone was welcome and could sit and find the same kind peace Kasey spent her whole life searching for. Nearly every surface is covered with plants, but it takes a very special reason for Kasey to part with any of them. Her flowers, on the other hand, can not stay long enough; even if you came for a simple cup of tea (home-brew, thank you very much), you would leave with at least one flower, special-picked, just for you.

The Apothecary lies just across the way from Pothos, which explains how Kasey gets entangled with the two most prominent gangs in the area: Bofurin and Minx. Although she didn't major in medicine, she knows enough about plants and healing to help take care of people after their fights, and her patient and calm demeanor makes her the perfect person to just listen to whoever needs a compassionate ear.

She's quiet, a little shy, and has a hard time opening up to people; every time she tried in the past, it always came back to bite her in the ass. Secrets she'd hoped would stay hidden were spread like wildfire; dreams she shared were belittled and mocked; and the rare parts of herself she gave away, she never saw again. Back in the US, she was often overlooked or forgotten, even by those who proclaimed to care for her, but in Japan? She finally found a home, and she finally found a group of people who see her and love her anyways.

While not a fighter at heart, Kasey had to learn the hard way how to hold her own. Her sister had the habit of getting in over her head, and someone would have to come and bail her out. It was always a bit of a shock that the quiet girl knew how to throw--and how to take--a punch, and while it isn't her first instinct, Kasey would be damned if someone around her got hurt when she could've prevented it. Her loyalty, even to those who don't necessarily deserve it, is fierce and hard to lose--hence why so many parts of Kasey seem to be missing. She has a hard time forgiving herself for all the things she has--or, more precisely, hasn't--done, but she'll forgive others if they offer a sincere apology for just about anything. She's a big believer in second-chances, even as she struggles to give herself the same grace.

She isn't the life of the party, per se, but she does make people's days brighter, especially when she's able to give a little gift or some word of kindness. She can easily talk to just about anyone, about just about anything, if given the chance--and it's not until Japan, until meeting the boys of Furin and the girls of Minx, that she's really given that chance.

Kasey loves all her friends, but her buddy Patchy has a special place in her heart for introducing her to this amazing world of love and family.

Fun Facts!

Kasey embodies the "I'm a lover, not a fighter." She thinks there can be a peaceful solution to just about anything, and it breaks her heart when that ends up being false, no matter how many times it happens. Negotiation is her first and primary strategy, but then she'll step back and let her friends teach those meanies some lessons!

Kasey's taken to being a healer in the group, not a front-lines fighter. She's always around to lend an ear, and her super sensitivities mean she's able to relate and provide support often. Additionally, she's taken to helping patch up her friends, on the rare occasion they get more than a little bump and bruise in their scuffles.

Chai lattes are her downfall. She could easily drink 20 a day, but her wallet keeps her from doing so.

Kasey pretty much fell in love with Sakura at first sight. He reminds her of the childhood cat she had growing up, both in looks and temperament. She knew, almost instantly, that he would be it for her. (He needed some time and a little more convincing).

Kasey loves to stargaze!

Kasey also collects old books (think pre-1910s). She keeps them at The Apothecary and lets whoever wants to read them do so at their leisure. At some of her friends insistence, she also has a special corner for some more modern works (dust jackets removed).

Kasey loves to make bookmarks for her friends. They're all individualized to everyone's personal preferences and reflect how beautiful unique all of them are.

Ace you’re so precious. Oh, goodness, I had to gatekeep this for a bit to really think on it…. I have quite the harem, you see….. but right now, my brain is absolutely rotting on Hawks, Sakura, and Jean and all for such different reasons. (lowkey took this as an excuse to indulge in my selfships, I hope that’s alright!!)

Hawks would be the ultimate not strings attached hookup (not sure friends, but not… not friends) that turns into something more, very, very quickly. I have a whole universe I’m building based on that premise, complete with a quasi triangle-turned-polyship with Dabi. It’s eating me alive it’s so good, and it’s all because Hawks genuinely cares too much about everything. He pretends he doesn’t to protect himself, so I see him trying to establish rules for our situationship to avoid the “feelings” but obviously, that doesn’t work. delicious tension with him playing both sides still, alongside the fact that he and Dabi also have a thing going on on the side… it’s so messy and fun and I’m having such a great time indulging in it!

Sakura is my soft, sweet, gentle lover boy. He’s my love at first sight ship, but it’s a she fell first, he fell harder type of thing. He starts off aloof and not really knowing what to do with his feelings, so I kind of get to walk him through what it’s like to fall in love and be in love with someone, which is a beautiful thing in itself. Lots of awkward moments, accidental flirting, and tons of yearning/pining in this one, but it’s probably my sweetest one yet. Just pure, genuine, soft kinds of love in all forms, building something from scratch and making it matter. I love how that parallels Sakura’s own journey and growth, too, so it’s really cute and fun to play with!

And Jean…. oh, Jean. I flop between Jean, Connie, and Eren pretty frequently, but my mind has been rotting on a lovesick Jean. In this one, we have a one night stand before the we become friends/before I meet the rest of the friend group, and then we both pretend it didn’t happen for the sake of the group, but we both still have unresolved feelings for each other. Jean falls completely in love with me while I really try to fight it, thinking there’s no way someone like him could ever love someone like me, but he gets me to lower my walls and proves that he’s in it for the long haul, so it’s a really romantic and dramatic nothing-to-something-to-friends-to-benefits-to-lovers arc.

as you can see, I have a strong desire to be known and loved regardless. I could go on and on and on about how each of them makes me feel seen in various ways. to love is to see and care anyways!!
