"Our liberty will not be secured at the sword's point... We must secure it by making ourselves worthy of it. And when the people reaches that height, God will provide a weapon, the idols will be shattered, tyranny will crumble like a house of cards, and liberty will shine out like the first dawn." (Jose Rizal)
today, we celebrate the 121st independence day of the Philippines. as we celebrate this day, i am encouraging you to take time to analyze and reflect on what's happening around us.
a lot of books and writings has been made during the war and is used as a weapon to attain the independence of our country.
a bloody war and revolution also prevailed which caused the death of many filipinos. recognized and unrecognized.
two popular books made during the spanish regime are Dr. Jose Rizal's Noli Me Tangere and El Filibusterismo, which means, The Social Cancer and The Reign of Greed, respectively.
as our government willingly agrees to whatever China wants do in our beloved country.
as our government continues to manipulate us, most specially the unfortunate ones who are unable to achieve the proper education that they deserve.
as our government neglect the loud cry of the society and still let politicians with criminal records, plunder cases, theft, corrupt and ignorant, run as government officials, run for a place on the senate.
as our government ignores the cry of our own farmers (please read also, Rizal's book, Filipino Farmers), his point is that an agricultural country like PH will not progress if the agricultural sector is neglected.
as our government acts deaf about the issues of EJK victims, some education related issues, train law issues, land issues, and many more.
as our government continues to be inconsistent and the citizens being gullible.
"Ganito ba talaga ang tadhana natin? Kalaban ng kalaban. Kalaban ng kakampi. Nakakapagod." (Heneral Antonio Luna)
some of these issues are because the government are doing something in favor of the country that is trying to conquer us, the filipinos, and the Philippines.
"there are no tyrants if there are no slaves." (J. Rizal)
i'm not saying that the government never done a good thing, i am saying that their unpraiseworthy decisions and character is very dominant.
in Noli Me Tangere and El Filibusterismo, Rizal showed how chaotic the society is because the Filipinos are ruled by greedy and abusive government. now take a look at today's situation.
i am asking myself, until when will we have our independence?
"I die without seeing dawn's light shining on my country... You, who will see it, welcome it for me...don't forget those who fell during the night time." (J. Rizal)
if i were to compare the past and today's situation, in the past, we are fighting the foreign regime that governs our country, for independence. right now, most of the filipinos are against the government of the country, even though they are of the same race, Filipinos. why? because the government seems want to willingly give up the independence of the country.
