That realism aspect seems to forget that the entire premise of a sitcom is to present a kind of real life that could never actually 'be' real. :-/ Hm, I don't know - they take that too far in my opinion. Maybe I'm just biased because I think Room Service is a great episode, lol.

Yeah, and I get that it’s subjective and that we all have our personal lines and things we think are out of character and drag down an episode. But I definitely think you have to make allowances for the fact that it is a sitcom. If everyone acts reasonably and you can’t just roll with some things, none of the farces even work.  

Like, they also hated ‘A Man, a Plan, and a Gal: Julia’ because Daphne, Frasier, and Niles all just sat there and watched Julia choke. And yet they loved ‘Dial M For Martin’ where Niles subconsciously tried to injure his father, Daphne actually subconsciously injured him, and Frasier ignored the fact that his father was in pain because he had a date. Also ‘Deathtrap’, which I love but is blatantly absurd.

25. favorite line you’ve ever written: this changes depending on what I’m working on, as I hope I’m always improving.  But this line was brought up to me in a review, and I do like it.

Essentially, they were both holding their cards against their chests, despite the fact the rest of the deck was overturned on the table between them.  Stubbornness was usually sufficient to keep them from glancing down, but sometimes attraction wore this out.

36. one-shot or multi-chaptered story?

I’ve finished very few multi-chapter things with plots.  My ideal work is a mixture of the two, like a series of interconnected vignettes, so there’s a small bit of plot, but I can really just focus on the characters and interactions. 

45. share the synopsis of a story you work on that you haven’t published yet: for two years I’ve been trying to get myself to work on a Data/Geordi parent!fic (all my fandoms need more parent!fic, shh) and this year it’ll hopefully finally happen.  Basically…

Data is in his own state of mourning after Lal’s deactivation.  Geordi hates to see him this way, and enlists cybernetics experts of the past and present for help.  What he ends up with is an android who cannot process audio, but instead of seeing this as a problem, the new parents see it as human.

And I have all these scenes done, just not tied together.  I always loved how Data learned, like, thousands of Sign Language variations and then that was never touched on again, so… I will do it.

Can you just imagine Niles immediately dropping everything and putting his chin on his hands and cooing “Tell me, please”

I watched this episode last night and it murdered me, you just brought me back to life in order to murder me again my dude and I am GRATEFUL.

One of these days I’ll just grab all of the episodes and cut away all of the unimportant parts that don’t involve Niles/CC interaction and then we’ll be able to watch The Nanny as it was always meant to

It was clearly going in the direction that Niles and C.C. were going to end up together, whether the show had to be rushed at the end or not (I think if they'd done another season, it would have been more natural, but that's not what happened so they had to compress the storyline). The whole "hate-to-love" trope was set up RIGHT THERE.

Did you know, and this is literally the most frustrating thing I’ve ever heard and I hate to repeat it lol but he said this at Shore Leave, that they were going to do a seventh season but Fran got in a fight with one of the producers and as a result they cancelled the show?
