why don't you write any smut? i checked out your masterlist and it's all fluff, crack and sometimes angst but theres no smut. you'd have way more followers if you wrote smut as well btw.

I don't know your intentions, but this came across as quite rude to me. I don't write smut because I don't want to and I'm not interested in it. That's it.

I don't read smut, and I will never write it (i'm in university btw i'm not a minor, i just don't want to). My blog is nearing three thousand followers, and I get great engagement despite not writing any smut, while I do understand that smut is what's most popular, and I'd probably have more followers if I did write it, I really don't care.

I genuinely just enjoy writing fluff, and I recently started writing angst which my followers really liked. I made this blog in June last year to write mainly for DC, because I love the characters and thoroughly enjoy and read the comics.

It's rather frustrating that I'm getting an ask (anonymous no less) like this because there are a lot of posts (which clog up x reader tags btw) complaining that there isn't enough fluff on tumblr for characters, and that it's all smut, so heaven forbid all I write is fluff??

however, if you'd like to read smut for the fandoms which I happen to write for, a fair few of my mutuals write smut (alongside other types of fics ofc), even though I don't interact with their smut fics I'm sure their fics will be good because all their other works I've read are absolutely fantastic

here are my mutuals with more variety than I (they write smut 18+ content as well as fluff, angst and crack):

@froggibus -> blog has lots of variety in regards to topics/genres and she's a really sweet person in general (go congratulate her for 8K)

@moviecritc -> writes for a lot of fandoms and really understands the characters she writes for really well. (she's funny asf as well)

@arachnidseyes -> fire oneshots and her youtuber!reader is really great, genuinely cracked me up.

@kitkatscabinet -> i get excited when she posts + always has great dialogue in fics snd I look foward to reading them

The Character if you will #take up residence in my brain so completely has just been really great #because i get into bad anxious spirals a lot and for some reason being able to think about him just fixes it. or makes it a lot less bad #anyway. i think it's because it gives me an opportunity to focus on something outside of myself maybe?#or because i project myself onto him so hard that you can hear the tape whirring in the background and write him with My Problems #and My Anxieties and it's like hey if The Character can deal with it and be okay than maybe i can too #that's cringe! oh well #i don't know what it is about him but anyway it's working. it provides distractions and diverts my thoughts to things i actually enjoy #it's like that one text post where it says “i haven't considered the interactions with bleebus! i must rectify this immediately”#spinning him around in my head like a microwave #the character.
