There was something amusing about the burning glare coming from the Dread Wolf’s pet. The utter nerve of such creature to show defiance toward his rightful God? How ignorant.
Oh if only said mortal could see what he and his sister were only truly trying to do. How else were they to react when spurned by their very own children?
Yet…this one in particular. ‘Rook’ he had been informed by his Venatori. ‘Kata’ by his own means of persisting on perhaps vital information. There was something amusing…and dangerously enticing.
Elgar’nan felt the corners of his mouth stretch in a near too eager sneer before he managed to compose himself to his former disdainful disposition.
The new game had just begun.
First? First, however, his sister needed to be tended to and perhaps even provided a warning to keep her from acting out so rashly again.
Then he would lay out the seeds of his plan on just how to successfully corrupt this Kata…and turn that blasted wolf’s pet against him.
Davrin: Absolutely not.
Bellara: Rook, I don’t think—
Lucanis: He looks good in the Crow attire, yes?
Davrin: No he doesn’t. He looks ridiculous—are you trying to conscript him into your group of assassins?
Lucanis: Better with us than to drink darkspawn blood!
Harding: Alright, hold on, let’s just take a moment and—
Kata: CAN I NOT SPEAK FOR MYSELF?
Kata: I’m not joining the Crows OR the damned Wardens. I just wanted a change in clothing but APPARENTLY that was a mistake.
Difference between Inquisition Era!Kata and Veilguard Era!Kata
So—obviously he did not have notable tattoos and his horn was NOT broken (and replaced with raw sapphire). During this time up until about three years after the end of Trespasser, he was Arvaarad—his duty was to hold the leash of Sarebaas and make sure their magic could not corrupt other members of the Qun.
By the time Veilguard comes around, Arvaarad broke free from the Qun and found himself with the Lords of Fortune, changing his name to Kata meaning”Death” while still struggling with his identity.
I’ll eventually spill it out more but feel free to ask questions in the meantime!
“This feels like an intervention.”
“It is.”
“…I’m walking away now.”
One hell of a way to introduce a new OC but I love it
Meet my Kata [Qun for “Death”] Laidir, warrior of the Lords of Fortune. Mostly stoic with a curiosity and fascination for all types of magic, he/him, tall beefy guy.
Help me flesh him out. Ask me questions!
Romance game-wise is yet to be decided but canon wise is my girlfriend’s oc. I gotta remember to ask her the name of said oc. 😂
For context, this next Drabble is NOT canon but a fun little angsty dip. What if Elgar’nan and Ghilan’nain succeeded (even with her death)? What if *someone* received the consequences of it and say…became sick? 👀
It practically drowned their ear drums, bursting with the song’s various chords and notes playing all so viciously with no moment to spare. More. More! Louder and louder the song grew, convincing them of their impending doom from its crushing strength. They bowled over, gasping for air they did not deserve to take, clawing at the throat that sound refused to break free, eyes squeezed shut for mercy they had not deemed earned.
I had commissioned Breeper (@breeperr on TikTok) for a stained glass edition of Kata and look what they came up with!
Freaking fantastic with every little detail, I love this so much!!
