It was probably just a misunderstanding? Have you even asked Jo how she heard about it rather than just being mad at her? She obviously was told something incorrect. I’m sure no one was being malicious. - Alicia

Yes, yes I have asked Jo how she heard about it. She was told about it by our Aunty Vicki. She wasn’t told anything incorrect, she assumed something incorrect and when she came at me with ‘why did you say no’ I got blindsided because no one bothered to tell me about this. I hadn’t heard a thing about it. I didn’t even know it was a possibility.

I know it wasn’t done maliciously, but that doesn’t mean it isn’t inconsiderate. If someone is going to set up an opportunity like this, that’s fine, that’s wonderful. I would just like to be told about it before anyone else is, considering that I’m the one who has to make a decision about it.

I know exactly what I’m mad about and why I’m mad about it and I don’t need to be condescended to about it, thank you very much.

Obviously something was lost in translation or misunderstood. Maybe your mum had only gotten a chance to speak to Jo about it. Work experience would be really great! It sounds like it could be a great opportunity. - Alicia

Mum has nothing to do with it (I’m not even sure she knows about it). 

And even if she did, why tell Jo? Why tell Jo before telling me? Before even ever mentioning anything about this to me? I’m the subject of these plans whatever they may be and I’m more than a little bit ticked off that at no point has anyone bothered to ask me about it.

Yes it would be a great opportunity and it is something I would love to do.

I’d just also love to be allowed to plan my own life.

I don’t even know what the thing is yet!

I found out about the thing ten minutes ago from a secondhand source who had assumed I knew about it and had refused, details were a little bit sparse.

:( hope you’re recovering with kitty and fun viewing. I spent many hours sitting with my laptop playing Skyrim.

I spent most of the day coughing and lying in bed playing games on my ipad because sitting or standing up hurts.
