i was always jealous of people who had family traditions surrounding holidays. i never had yearly traditions other than a tree for things like xmas, and it used to be a source of resentment and anger in me.
i decided in 2017 to watch muppet christmas carol every christmas eve. it's hilarious and adorable and i decided that if i wanted a tradition i was going to make one! and it was gonna be full of warmth and happiness, even if i didnt necessarily believe that at the time
for the past 2 years i've gotten to watch this movie with my fiancee, curled up on her family's couch in a safety id' never known. this year, i get to watch it with my besties on discord and then again with my fiancee.
my little family tradition makes me so happy and i made it myself.
