if anyone is curious (and I know no one was) this is the actual color of an ordinary day. it’s the red in the apples. thanks genius lyrics for this information
Hey guys!!! A few days ago, the cast and team of the original cast of Ordinary Days had a little reunion which they streamed on Facebook, and in case you weren't able to catch it, here's the link to it! Enjoy and keep safe <3
I just found out AKB and Kate Wetherhead wrote a book series today and I want all the books.
How did I not know about this until now?
YA contemporary fiction and Broadway soundtracks may not be as classic or sophisticated a combination as, say, wine and cheese, but I’d argue the pairing is at least as natural as popcorn and a cho…
Basically, if you like the “one day in NYC,” interconnected-love-stories thing that Nicola Yoon did in The Sun Is Also a Star, you should listen to Ordinary Days, which is charming and unique and a super easy listen. If you’re not a person who listens to Broadway recordings as their own pieces of entertainment, this is a great place to start, since having only 4 characters makes it easy to follow.
This is the incredible Kate Wetherhead as the painfully-relatable Deb:
I felt personally attacked by that.... until I got to the part where she sings an email to her advisor begging an extension on her thesis. Yeah.
It's with great pleasure that I share The Ceiling Fan, a short film that I made with Kate Wetherhead. After creating Jack & Louisa and Submissions Only, Kate and I wanted to experiment with a different kind of storytelling. We teamed up with The Bengsons (whose brilliant new musical HUNDRED DAYS is currently playing at New York Theatre Workshop!) and Andrew Samonsky and made this sweet film. Please watch and share with your friends!
Here is a highlight reel, featuring footage from the recent Encores! Off-Center revival of "God Bless You, Mr. Rosewater," the first collaboration between composer Alan Menken and writer, director, and lyricist Howard Ashman. The musical also features additional lyrics by lyricist Dennis Green.
This revival features Santino Fontana (as Eliot Rosewater), Skylar Astin (as Norman Mushari), Derrick Baskin, Jeff Blumenkrantz, Nick Choksi, Eddie Cooper, Kevin Del Aguila, Clark Johnson, James Earl Jones, Rebecca Naomi Jones, Kevin Ligon, Marla Louissaint, Liz McCartney, Bonnie Milligan, Brynn O’Malley, and Kate Wetherhead, with direction by Michael Mayer, choreography by Lorin Latarro, and music direction by Chris Fenwick.
