Book club update part... 3, I think?
Okay, so now that a few people are interested in this, I want to try and get this show on the road in time for next year.
When do we want to start with this? January? February? I'd like to begin sooner rather than later, but I also want everyone to have enough time to read their chosen book(s) and join in the discussion without feeling rushed. So if there's a time period that doesn't work for you, let me know. But if early next year is good for you, awesome! Likewise let me know.
What books do we want to start with? So far I've suggested the following topics and authors:
If you have an author or topic you'd like to recommend, tell me and I'll probably add it to the list.
If you've expressed interest in the book club, I would really appreciate it if you replied to this post or sent me an ask outlining which (if any) of the topics you would like to participate in. And if you're okay with the lists as they stand or whether you would want to add or subtract certain books. (You only have to read and discuss one book to participate in a topic. It would be neat if you read more than one though.)
The Tamora Pierce post has garnered the most likes/reblogs, but I'm not really sure that the people who have responded to the post know what the book club is about, so I'll kind of disregard that for the moment.
I think that's all for the moment... update four will probably be about how I envision the discussion taking place. Gosh, this is a lot of organizational stuff. Sorry!
