Doing this because I found out a lot of people hated the third book and I loved it so now I’m curious

Something something the crawlers are all both Orpheus and Eurydice. Orpheus's skill as a musician what lets him travel the underworld despite the danger. The crawlers needing to be entertaining to help them survive the dungeon. Carl is helped by past crawlers who looked back because they couldn't ever leave the underworld. Carl looks back to the people he couldn't help all the time, and that anger but more importantly that love keeps his going. The crawlers taking deals at the end of the ninth floor look back in love, and pass on their strengths and skills for their Eurydices' before they descend deeper into the underworld. Li Jun looking back before he sacrifices himself to thank Carl for the extra time with his sister and best friend. Katia almost being destroyed by the Blitz Sticks that let her look back upon Annie, and going through detox with a friend to witness that memory with her. Carl learning about a brother he never knew existed and taking a moment to mourn him instead of seeing his father die. Choosing love over and over again.

More Dungeonmary!!! Hooray!!

Katia is very busy with all of the things going on in book 5, but just like how Carl notices small things about her change in demeanor, Katia notices small things changing about Carl and Grace.

It started with Grace, around the third or fourth floor. He looked kind of pink sometimes, and constantly tried his damndest not to stare at Carl. Honestly, in hindsight, she’s glad he wasn’t there to see them running from that explosion on the second floor. He might’ve turned bright red. Grace definitely admired Carl, much like she did, but something was different, especially how he looked at Carl when he was acting like a psychopath.

Then she saw little things changing with Carl, too. He kind of hovered, sometimes. He listened to every word Grace would say, adding little questions in on occasion. Whenever Grace would get a little bit more confidence and he made a smartass comment, Carl would grin. Not just crazy, not just happy, but something Katia hadn’t seen before.

Katia had been laid across her bed, thinking about anything and everything, when the thought had crossed her mind. What was making them act so different? Was it something the party wasn’t telling her? But, Donut and Mordecai were acting the same. So what was different about Carl and Grac—

“Oh my gods.” Katia sat up quickly, throwing hair in her face.

That couldn’t possibly be it, right? It was Carl and Grace.
