Being interested in a celebrity and writing about them is not the same as being interested in who they're dating and gossiping about their private life at all... Idk why that person thought they were making a good point lmao. Not to mention whatever you write is your fantasy, the people that gossip think the things they say are true.
I get that people want to know what their fave celeb is up to, I think that's natural human curiosity, and it's cool. It's also OK if you just want to watch the next movie they make and not give a fuck what they do between filming.
What is not cool is becoming obsessed by what is posted on Social Media, making up shit about people because it fits your narrative (not you Nonny, but I think you know what i mean!) and genuinely living your life through the internet.
Maybe it's because I'm old and Social Media didn't exist when I was a teenager - I had to rely on newspapers, magazines and TV to find out what was happening. Growing up I was a huge fan of Duran Duran (I still am to some extent) I had no idea of the extent of the drug & alcohol problems John Taylor had, until I read his book. If that had happened now it would be all over the internet!
We don't know the real Chris Evans. We know what he wants us to know, to some extent we know which home is LA & which is in MA, we know that Dodger loves his lion and that RDJ gave him a car. That's all we have the right to know. We don't have the right to obsess over his Instagram and Twitter likes and follows - and we certainly don't have the right to go stalking on his friend's PRIVATE profiles.
