Got to try Sumi-e (I think that’s how you’re supposed to spell it?) Ink painting with @awesome-romanoindisguise at Katsucon 2018 at an event hosted by the Japanese Culture Society. Learned the four brushstrokes and tried my hand at two of the four gentlemen: bamboo and orchid. Didn’t really have dark ink because there were a lot of people so it was hecka diluted but I think some of these turned out really great!

So change of time for my 18+ SNK Panel at Katsucon!! It is NOT Saturdayevening/Sundaymorning It is Saturday MORNING at 1:30-3:30am......

If you are coming to this SnK Panel, I, and other panelist, ask you to bring coffee to us to keep us awake. I am not even kidding. I have three panels in the course of like 10 hours...I am going to need caffeine to live...T_____T

Had to edit the rating on my last post. It's not fair to do Magfest on a scale of 1 to 5 and katsucon on a scale of 1 to 10.

But its fixed and now I just have to wait for the next convention.

Katsucon

Also know as stop two of my 6 stop convention tour.

Katsucon has always held a special spot in my heart because it was my first convention back in 2007. I was a senior in high school and had begged my mom to let me go for months. Well she said yes until the ice storm hit. Than she said yes as long as I could get out the driveway. Well I went and fell in love. The Cosplays, the people, the whole experience was and still is something I will always cherish.

With all that love I have for the Katsu team I have to ask why??!!! Why were things so bad this year?

Why did you change the format of the schedule that us attendees use year after year? Why did you encourage the MLP fandom? Why did the dj seem seriously ADD at the rave? (The songs changed way too offten) Why did you ignore all the rules for the formal ball? Letting in short dresses, backless dresses, no-formal boots, no-formal costumes, and so many scary other things? And please put around a few more trash cans next year. (I know this is hotel stuff but you guys can ask)

I'm sad to say that in my 6 years as a con goer (years 13 through 18) this was the second to worst Katsu to date for me. (At least it was better than the over crowded year in Crystal city)

Some good things to note about this year...

Had some really cool guest this year. Had slightly more orginized panels. Very pretty maids this year. Loved getting my badge Thursday night. Loved my balcony room (even though this has nothing to do with the convention it was still awesome) Liked the random catogory for the amv contest. Liked moving the ball to an actually ball room and adding tables (I expected a snack to go along with the tables but there was none)

With all that being said I still love you guys very much and will be back next year.

Might try for a spot as a maid next time. That or I'll buy VIP just because I love you guys.
