Lucrezia found it quite difficult to sleep lately. She was haunted by nightmares but all of them were gone ‘til morning, she couldn’t remember anything. She woke up with a strange feeling, like a prediction of something bad that is yet to happen. This morning, it was even worse. The familiar sound of her phone ringing woke her up from her nightmare but her dream was nothing like the cruel reality she had to hear about. She greeted her mother, it wasn’t hard to tell that something happened, judging by the sadness in her voice. As she heard the news, the Italian princess felt like she never woke up. It was all a strange dream, wasn’t it? However, this time, the nightmare didn’t come to an end. Her father died last night and she was hundreds of miles away from home. It took her many hours to stop crying after she hung up the phone. It didn’t feel real. As Lucrezia realized she didn’t have anymore tears to shed, she sent a few emergency texts to her family members, asking them to come meet her in an hour in the conference room. She dragged herself out of the bed, picked an all black outfit and did her makeup well enough to hide the dark circles under her eyes. After a while, she left her room to meet her relatives. She was the first one to get there and she waited patiently until everybody arrived. Without looking them in the eye, Lucrezia nodded her head as a greet. “Thank you for meeting me so quickly. I wanted to be the first one who tells you about this, before the entire world finds out,” she started. It was even harder to keep going because she had to admit that what happened last night was real. The Italian heir felt like she was breaking down into a million pieces but she had to keep a straight face. Her father wouldn’t like to see her weak. “I’d like to apologize for keeping this a secret. My father had been sick for the past months. He died last night.” She clenched her jaw, she had to act like a crown-princess, even though she was crying inside. “It felt like the right decision to be the one that tells you about it, my family and I didn’t want you to hear about it from the news.” — ( @barbiebraganca, @arielbraganca, @catarinabraganca, @brucemacalpin, @katvlina )
