Yes it is Wes and Kurt!!

The idea was it's as in canon where Kurt comes back to Lima to win Blaine back, but then finds him dating Dave. He's hurt and he still has feelings for Blaine but he's not going to push anything, so he tries to move on, but he still sticks around and coaches Glee with Rachel while Blaine is coaching the Warblers. And he still ends up being friends with Blaine, which is how he ends up hanging around with Wes, because Wes is in Lima for some reason and Blaine has been spending time with him. So in this AU, Walter never happens, and instead Kurt gets together with Wes :)

Summary:

New York was nothing like Kurt Hummel had expected when he’d dreamed of moving there. It was ugly, it was dirty, and the competition to succeed was hell.

Even the blind dates his sister-in-law, Rachel, set him up on didn't make it any better.

The only good thing about New York was the small bakery nestled in between the entrance to his apartment building and the deli on the corner.

Mary's.

Mary’s was warm and inviting and whenever Kurt stepped into the bakery he felt like he was walking into someone’s home, like he was a family friend allowed to visit at will.

And the barista who worked on Saturday nights was definitely one of the reasons for that.

Sam.

When Sam told Kurt that he would happily show him the city Kurt jumped at the chance to spend more time with him, even if, as he fell in love with New York, he also fell in love with Sam.

He really had to stop crushing on straight guys.

Chapter 1 of ??

Once again Kurt Hummel was sitting in the tiny little italian restaurant his sister-in-law, Rachel, had told him had the best vegan meatballs in the whole of the East Village. And once again he was waiting impatiently for his blind date, set up by said sister-in-law, to arrive. It was a dreary day in mid September and the street outside the window was being pounded by the heavy rain. Kurt checked his watch again with a sigh. 15 minutes late. Why did everyone Rachel set him up with arrive late? Didn’t actors understand the importance of being on time? That was the problem with having a sister-in-law who was adamant to play Yenta and only interacted with her cast-mates, he guessed. Actors were notorious for being self-absorbed, after all. He played with the brooch on his lapel, making sure it stood out so that his date - when he finally arrived - would be able to see it as he entered the restaurant. A hippo head brooch was always a good choice of a signal, no-one else in the restaurant was ever wearing one. A single red rose, however, was a terrible one. There had been at least 3 guys so far who had walked through the door either wearing a rose in their lapel or holding one. Only for a woman, or another man, to enter behind them and take their arm - obviously on a date themselves. “Kurt?” A voice asked, and Kurt’s head shot up to smile at them. He stood and offered a hand for the man to shake...

IR SEWING BEE TAGSSSS like YES i 100% agree and then I was watching people crying over making this dress and I can imagine him also crying because he forgot to match up a seam correctly or some shit (idk how to sew) and I JUST,,, he would be in his element ommgggggg (especially with the challenge where they have to make a random thing)

His patten matching would be off by like a millimeter and he would panic he was going to be eliminated

He'd also be the audience's fave because while he's bitching about some of the contestants he also totally helps others that he likes because he's done early because skills

Also Joe would love annoying him

And he'd LOVE the final challenge and make the most amazing things completely to the briefs.

I am so freaking tempted to write this one day, I remember writing an outline for a Kurt on project runway fic once years ago, but somehow this is even better (like he's in the UK doing... idk... previews for an off-west-end show or something) I'm gonna spend a good chunk of tomorrow catching up with this season lol, how did I forget this was on again!
