About your quiz. Interestingly enough, I got Link the first time but then Miranda later. I can see the likeness between the two, but I'd like to see your comparing and contrasting of them based on how you characterized them for the quiz.
Link and Miranda huh? The german duo ♥
I like to think, on this quiz that questions your principles and morals, that your results may differ depending on what’s happened to you recently (like MBTI quizzes). So getting different results isn’t always the result of some drastic change, but maybe just a little one?
From this post here I’ll paste some snippets on Miranda:
Miranda and Kanda…. are both defined by inner strength. We’ve all seen Miranda’s amazing displays of determination and compassion for her companions, pushing herself beyond her limits to do what she can for them. She’s horribly nervous and anxious, but still speaks up when she thinks she should, or when she thinks something’s wrong.
That, that very discipline, is very hard to achieve. How many people could do that? ...like Miranda, overcome tremendous anxiety and self-doubt to still do what you think you should?
Doing what you must, what you think is right, are characteristics Kanda and Miranda share, even if they seem like wildly different people.
Link and Miranda both come from a state of “nothing” or being “worthless.” They’ve found value in their accomplishments, and are well aware that the opportunity was given to them by someone else (Link with Leverrier and Miranda with Allen).
Nothing is too much to do for someone else. Miranda works herself to the bone, goes far beyond her limits for others, and Link does the same in regards to his ‘duty’. They’ve both got this inflated sense of what their work is worth (not to say what I think of it, but that they place immense value in it, unreasonably so).
To them, their worth is defined by what they can do for others/accomplish, versus say, ‘you’re worthy of love because you are as a person’.
A lot of the Exorcists are hard workers because they have to be to survive, but Miranda is one because she wants to be. She and Link both find purpose in their tasks and in their ‘meaning’ for their existence.
There are of course big differences between them too lol. Miranda is much more timid and hesitates to speak against her betters where Link never is (barring Leverrier). Link asserts himself and his opinions and has no self doubt in his own ideas or thoughts. Miranda is constantly plagued by ruminating thoughts and creating catastrophes out of what might happen. Where Link might plan for every possibility, choose the best route, and move forward, the possibility of failure daunts and holds Miranda back.
The only time Miranda really moves past her own fears is when someone else can depend on her for it. There’s little to nothing Miranda won’t accomplish if she sets her mind to it that someone would be grateful or benefit from her success. This is broadly set for the Exorcists in general, but it also applies to Link and how he might serve Leverrier. Link is extremely accomplished and talented, but he’s honed all of that for Leverrier and the Order.
I guess you could say their deference to others and dependence on finding value in their work rather than themselves is what makes Miranda and Link similar. At the very least, I think they’d get along.
In regards to the quiz, most of their similar answers are marked by the expectations and harsh rules they place on themselves. They’re also much kinder to others than themselves.
