the thing about scarpetta the show is that it's trying to be, like, five things at once? in the same way some of the books were, but the problem is that it does NOT understand how to do that and keep those elements balanced. i legitimately think it's a good show that is worth watching, even if its a bit disjointed, but it is ABSOLUTELY NOT a faithful adaptation of the books. like at all.
