In the beginning, Isla was told that K9999 could be a suitable replacement for Krizalid. Unfortunately, she didn’t enjoy that. Isla slowly began to avoid K9999 and after witnessing him beat down Krizalid upon his return, Isla hated him with every fiber of her being.

Years later, Isla still held down that anger for him, even after the fall of NESTS. She even believed that he had died with the rest of them, unfortunately...she was wrong.

Isla received a message from K9999 at that moment, and soon enough he began to live with her. The two communicated more, even if it was spiteful at times. However their moment of what would actually be considered a bond, happened when they sought out an old location, where an old base once remained.

She understood him, and he gave her a reason to keep fighting, despite everything that happened.

Isla now believes that she may be able to save K9999 from what can only be his last moments of life as he begins to become some unstable being. Isla’s got the science that can save him, and she only hopes she can, as now...Isla sees him less as a nuisance...and more of something cherished...finally...she sees him as what he was meant to be to her, had she not been so damn spiteful, something to befriend and protect.

Capcom sadly shies away from the crazier designs for certain characters - I’m still disappointed we didn’t get Monstrous Amphibian Necalli.

((honestly yeah i’ve noticed that!!! they seem to especially shy away from more complex and/or wild designs for the more supernatural characters, like necalli, as you’ve said.

they do tend to make the skins/costumes for them a little more complex, though not as complex as we tend to want, like, this fucking battle costume for kage for instance
