Kayoshi's Tale

Chapter 1, Part 1.

Kayoshi runs, cutting through the air with his feet. He's late again!

Running through the familiar streets he has already known over the years of living in the city, the guy is in a hurry to get to work, or rather on the first day of his new job.

Let's say hooray for boring office work! He encourages himself, in a peculiar way, I must say. He has no choice, the guy has to earn money somehow.

He stops abruptly in front of a large building and adjusts his black tie and runs a hand through his dark gray hair before going inside...

"Damn it, you're incompetent! How can you be late on the first day?!" These and other shouts, along with some obscene language, are all that Kayoshi hears from his new boss. The guy rolls his eyes, which seems to anger the boss even more, but by some miracle, having missed most of what the older man said, he is still released from the head's office, ordering him to sit at the indicated place and start work.

The day goes on for a long time... Utterly long and absolutely boring...

His eyes slowly scan the text of the file in front of his eyes, looking for errors and places that require edits. His cheek is squished against his palm.

{All for the money, hold on, Kayoshi!} He repeats it in his head over and over again, trying to endure the boredom and fatigue of monotonous sedentary work. Kayoshi's foot involuntarily taps on the floor under the table in a nervous rhythm, fingers on the mouse tremble from time to time.

It's going to be a long day...
