Okay 'm having a thought. Waving Through a Window might be a Kazuma song HEAR ME OUT--

So he's always kind of holding people at a distance right? Ryunosuke is the first person he truly let's in since his parents died and even he doesn't get to see all of him. So I feel like instead of Evan's intense social anxiety and feeling like an outcast, this song can work for symbolism for Kazuma's longing love other people and be loved by them vs. the knowledge that he will lose them someday & fearing how deeply that will devastate him again

He's waving through a window. He seems like a sociable guy, but there's always something between him and other people. He's putting up a wall.

I think the first verse with "I've learned to slam on the brake / Before I even turn the key / Before I make the mistake / Before I lead with the worst of me" and the bridge of "step out of the sun / if you keep getting burned" further work with idea of Kazuma's coping mechanism

He's trying to protect himself from future pain that comes from losing loved ones by not letting himself get close enough to anyone to actually consider them one, which is all in vain of course. Stopping them from truly knowing or loving him doesn't actually impair his ability to care for them
