how did i get into arrow, you ask?
I was in a coffee shop, it was midnight during finals week, and I was “writing” a 15 page paper.
I’ve taken a few loooong accidental tumblr hiatuses before (kind of like the one I’ve been on -- hello friends, I’m alive), and I had recently woken up from that particular hibernation in a procrastination driven haze. Every 50 or so posts on my dash I would see gifsets of this cute blonde in glasses and this ridiculously attractive guy with really nice forearms.
I vaguely knew what the show was, because I don’t live under a rock and I try to stay pretty current on what’s happening as far as comic book adaptions go (especially DC-verse, I’m a DC girl all the way), but whenever I would scroll past the show when I was looking for something to watch on Netflix I would groan and be like NOT THE FUCKING CW AGAIN THAT SHIT IS GARBAGE because okay M O S T L Y it is garbage.
But there I am. Using and abusing the coffee shop’s extended hours during finals week, TRYING TO WRITE A FUCKING PAPER ON SHAKESPEARE, and I started browsing Netfix in a fit of desperation. Honestly, it’s funny now because I am ABSOLUTELY O B S E S S E D but at the time I was like
/scrolls past Arrow/ WELL IT’S NOT LIKE I HAVE ANYTHING BETTER TO DO /ignores open word document with only my name and the MLA format heading written/
and then I watched the first episode, was like OKAY OKAY ALRIGHT ALRIGHT THIS IS MY SHIT BUT WHERE’S THE CUTE BLONDE, googled CUTE BLONDE FROM ARROW, packed up my shit, went home and watched the next like, 10 episodes.
I ended up writing my paper the day it was due after binge watching the eNTIRE first season and I still got an A.
