Kat's ESC Discourse S6 E20: Carry Them Through 5 -- Aurela Gaçe, Feel The Passion (Albania) This was robbed. This is so underrated, I'm screaming. This remains my favorite thing Albania has ever sent - they just gave Kënga Ime english lyrics, didn't change the instrumental at all (which was the thing that really got to me about the Përallë -> Fairytale change, was the instrumental). And then the staging is K I L L E R, Aurela just rocks it. I love everything about this and I remember being so impressed by it when watching it for the first time. 4 -- What About My Dreams, Kati Wolf (Hungary) This song is such a fun time???? It sounds eerily similar to Undo though, Sanna did you fucking plagiarize. Anyway. I think staging kind of killed his one, it seems like the sort of song that would have been a favorite to win but then was fucked over by staging. I love listening to this.

Kat's ESC Discourse S5 E20: My Controversy 4 -- Roman Lob, Standing Still (Germany) don't hate me for this i am a sucker for breakup songs and he has a pretty voice 3 -- Compact Disco, Sound Of Our Hearts (Hungary) ROBBED, ROBBED I TELL YOU, GODDAMN AZERI TV STUCK THEM IN THE HELL SLOT AND LOOK WHERE IT GOT THEM I LOVE THIS SONG IT IS A JAM IT IS,,, IT IS GROOVIN, AND I WILL PROTECT IT also does hungary literally only have one backup singer because i swear that same woman was the backing girl in 2013 too

Kat’s ESC Discourse S4 E20: My Danish Wife

1 – Emmelie de Forest, Only Teardrops (Denmark) MY WIFE,,, LOVE OF MY LIFE EMMELIE DE FOREST I SELL MY SOUL TO YOU. The song feels kind of otherworldly in the way it’s instrumented and staged, and she looks like a fairytale character, honestly, but the lyrics are about stuff that’s real, about conflict and frustration and being alone. The fact that she’s beautiful helps, i’ll admit.

Sorry to interrupt everyone’s JESC parade, but it’s been a disappointing morning already and i need to drown my sorrows in Emmelie and so forth.

Kat's ESC Discourse S1 E20: Don't Get Me Started 4 -- Jamala, 1944 (Ukraine) I'm satisfied with her win. I didn't like the song at first but she has an amazing distinct voice and such a wide range (omg, coloratura much????) and the emotion in her performance is just dazzling. Also that staging is A+, way to go staging person you killed it. It's not a style of music that I normally like but she makes it an art form TBH and just makes it work. 3 -- Greta Salomé, Hear Them Calling (Iceland) HOW DID THIS NOT QUALIFY????!???? Staging is flipping awesome, first off. Smoke stuff. Yes. Go Greta and her smoke magic. Also I love her voice so !!! much !!! it's one of my favorite voices in this year's contest she's so talented and you can hear her improvement since Never Forget Song is great. It's totally my thing. Beautiful instrumentation, and I can't wait to cover it (it's next on my list, after Italy's song)!
