Puzzles were kind of Laurencia’s thing. Spotting seemingly meaningless details that could be the key to an overall mystery? It was her speciality. At least, it was when it came to mysteries hidden within biological samples and bizarre chemical combos. Puzzles like this, though, were something new for her. This was a puzzle in a literal sense. But she had a sneaking suspicion it wasn’t as simple as a Rubik’s Cube. Laurencia took a long sip of her hot chocolate, thinking.
“Well, I suppose we could start with the most obvious clue. Do we know what the inscription on the casing translates to?”
Henry enjoyed mechanical challenges, motorbikes or spaceships that weren’t working? He loved those. But puzzles, he wasn’t too good with. Perhaps it was because he never saw the fun in solving puzzles because there seemed to be no purpose.
But today, there was the need to get this puzzle solved, and soon, for the sake of the planet. Kate needed answers.
