Me: Huh? Wait- what’s office siren?! *sees outfit* Oh for the love of-
Seriously does no one know how to dress anymore? Do people not know what business wear is?
Hell my office doesn't give a fuck what we wear generally unless the big bosses are around. You know what I do?
Sweaters, slacks, button ups. Jeans and a hoodie sometimes on Fridays which are casual days.
You don’t wear corp tops and mini skirts unless you work in an environment those are okay! You work in a bar? Great. You work at some modeling agency and need to show off the clothes? Fine.
How… are people NOT being taught this anymore? Do people not get lessons on this in university or college anymore?
You wanna be an office siren? Knee length pencil skirt, heels, stockings, button up.
This is the classical ‘sexy secretary’ look for a reason. And its still professional!
… I have no clue why I'm so grumpy about this other then I'm witnessing how the younger generation is being failed at every turn because no one is TEACHING them this.

WARNING: This gets kinda gross, but it’s medical stuff soooo...
Okay, so I was having a lot of stomach pain today and my mom was concerned so she took me into the Emergency Room. After I’m sitting in there for a while, the doctor comes in to ask me about my symptoms. One question in particular was, “anything abnormal in your stools?” and I responded with “yeah actually they’ve been kinda black”. So after stating that I was going to have an ultrasound and give blood samples, the doctor brings up giving me a rectal exam. I initially thought this was a joke, so I laughed because, well, awkward. But then I realized he was completely serious.
So after about five minutes he and a nurse come in to Do the Deed. He explained the procedure and said, “you’re going to feel a cold gel and then a slight pressure, and then it’ll be over quickly”. I was thinking, “okay so other than the overall awkwardness I’ll be fine”.
My mom’s sitting across the room in a chair, and I’m in the bed on my left side, facing her and the nurse. The nurse tells me to find my happy place, and before I can get a legitimate thought in my head, the Deed had begun.
I feel a ton of pain and my only reaction was making this weird squeal/howl noise and scrunching up my face. My mom notices my clear discomfort and gives the doctor a glare. With the straightest look on her face she says, “Slight pressure? Slight pressure, my ass!”.
And that’s the story of how my wonderful mother made a doctor laugh so hard he cried with an unintentional ass joke; all while giving me a rectal exam.
Sunrise, the crack of dawn. The moment between day and night when Karrista would much prefer to be curled up in bed. Instead she was walking the streets of Dalaran. The smell of fresh breads and morning drinks filled the air, and while she didn’t need either to be awake and functional at this hour, she still appreciated the delicious aroma.
The doorman to the Embassy Row offices looked as if he could use a drink of coffee or three as he opened the door for Karrista. She stepped inside and politely thanked the man. As soon as she took her first step, she knew that she had chosen the right shoes. Each footfall in the stilettos echoed like sharp thunder, demanding attention. It would be up to her to turn that attention into respect.
Karrista pulled the key to the JSOC office out of her jacket pocket and held it near the lock. She threw a glance over her shoulder to the door to the Kiden Embassy and began a mental clock as to how long it would take the Justiciar to show her sun-shining face. She slid the key in and turned it. The click brought to mind a jail cell for a moment.
Inside, the office was empty, Karrista expected it. There was no reason for Rebecca to stick around filing. She let the door shut quietly behind her and approached the desk. She ran a finger along the edge, stopping at the middle of the front. Karrista flipped the nameplate back up. The nameplate’s etched brass lettering proudly stating “Commander Arrel Warburn”. This was his office and job, she would just be keeping the seat warm.
She continued her circle of the desk, settling in the seat. Right in front of her, a folder lay open, the contents included the daily schedule, current operations, upcoming meetings, and the important sheet listing where everything was including the bathrooms. Karrista’s lips curled up in a smile as she read the final paper. This had to have been Rebecca’s doing. She was thankful for the work Rebecca did in organizing things.
First impressions were not the most important thing to Karrista, mostly because she had the unnatural gift of completely fucking them up. It was the impressions made over time that mattered. While Karrista was mostly certain that her first impression with Justiciar Sunvein was positive, she knew that Alit and Lochlyn were both watching her, trusting she could do the job. She would do it by the book, nothing fancy, no showing off.
Karrista took a few minutes to review the current operations list, a few minutes more to pull the relevant files. She noted the way the files were kept in the drawers, it wouldn’t be good to ruin Rebecca’s work. She settled behind her desk to read through the files. She pulled out a pair of reading glasses and a notepad. She would do a proper journal later and add in her reports to the files at the end of the week.
