I used to be a runner. Or I guess I am a runner, but because of a tumble down a hill side, the resulting knee injury, and a loss of free time I have stopped running like I used to. I have gained a significant amount of weight, and lost all confidence in myself. I am tired of not being where I used to be, or better. I'm done with making excuses, and blaming whatever is convenient to blame. I am going to make it work. I am doing this for myself, because I am so worth it. This year I plan to: 1. Join run the year: run, walk, or hike 2,018 miles in 2018 (if any one would like to be my partner in this... :) ) 2. Lose 30 pounds. (I would be totally ok with losing more, just putting that out there) on a similar note I have officially taken before pictures. Currently way to embarrassing to post, but hopefully through out the year I will see progress and get up the courage to share :) 3. Cut down on my caffeine (coffee) consumption. Make some of those cups herbal tea. Or better yet water! 4. Cut out dairy completely from my diet. It makes me sick and no matter how delicious lasagna is, it has to be terrible on my body... 5. Take (and pass) the NES tests for earth and space science, chemistry, and physics, and advanced math. And hopefully get to teach a section of the new astrophysics course. 6. Apply for the new AVID position at the beginning of next school year. It will be slow and steady, but I can do this. Deep breath... Ready for 2018 to be a great year. And one that is full of personal and professional growth!
