BEING KIND TO EARTH IN 2020 2020 has been a stinker, so we do need to go easy on ourselves. 💛 There are loads of earth lovin habits we can keep up with minimal effort or reintroduce as hope lightens the end of this year, so here are some simple ideas: - Take advantage of food waste collection in your area, or compost any leftover scraps. Hear hear for soil health. - Buy secondhand or support sustainable or local small businesses. - Sponsor an endangered animal as a Christmas gift or give gift donations to fantastic organisations like @camfed - Make sure you are on a green electricity tariff. Hello sweet sweet green energy. Let's be honest, it has not been easy to live sustainably this year. Plastic and single use materials abound, bigwigs like Amazon have been having a field day and many individuals have had a really rough year personally, meaning good habits went out the window. There hasn't always been the capacity to think beyond anxious, Covid related thoughts. Yes, there have been less flights and industries shut down for a while, but after the planet had a brief respite, carbon emissions shot right back up. The World Wildlife Fund (WWF) Living Planet Report 2020 also brought more bad news about biodiversity loss and soil health. It hit me the other day when I saw cherry blossoms... in London... in November. Internal screaming. Systemic change has the biggest impact of course, but we can make small positive changes that add up in our day to day lives. One positive this year is that more people seem to be appreciating time in nature. 🌱 Let me how you've continued to show the earth some love or some positive changes you've seen happen in your area. 💛 . . . #shopsmall #goodgreenhabits #keepcomposting #donationgifts #simplechanges #littlegreensteps #allconsidered #beinggreen #boycottamazon (at Hampstead, United Kingdom) https://www.instagram.com/p/CIRL45WH0hf/?igshid=g29ok02bszbt
