Mwah
Khadgar grumbles his answers under his breath.
"Well, time of the grandest of holiday fastives is here.. well second.. nothing beats brewfest. Though I'm curious, have you ever scared the daylights out of any of your friends during Hallows End? Or they scared you?"
Me? Scare someone? Keevah, be ya implyin’ dat I, Vol’jin; Shadow Huntah, Leadah o’ da Darkspear Trolls, Warchief o’ da Horde, Servant of Bwonsamdi, have used my dark magics and Voodoo fo; such small an’ trivial pursuits as scarin’ me fellow mon?
Heh, ya know me so well, mon.
Aye, I suppose I have slipped into prankin’ me fellow Horde membahs once or twice in me life.
Hallow’s End be an interestin’ time for all mon in Azerot’. Goin’ back generations, each race be seein’ dis one event in different lights. Fo’ Trolls, espepcially dem practicin’ Voodoo, it be a time when da veil between our world and da oddah side be t’in, and we can glimpse an’ even make contact wit’ dem dat have passed on.
Howevah, when I heard dat oddah mon see it as a time to get ya frights out, well, I suppose I might have perhaps seen an opportunity to really get da blood flowin’ an’ deir hearts racin’.
I won’ go in to much detail about what all I did. Dere be too many instances where I got more noble and hardy mon to squeal like swine. Let’s juss’ say dat aftah I retook da Echo Isles, T’rall saw fit to leave me be durin’ dis time.
Dough he claimed it be fah spiritual reasons, I tink we all know da real reason he let dis Ol’ Troll alone durin dose dark nights… Heh eh heh.
Will you ever hug Zalazane over there? I understand he's done the worst things imaginable. But don't deny who was once your brother since birth, take it from experience. I will never get that chance to speak to any one of my kin that have passed. You may have eternity in death, as does he -- it could be something for you both to talk and listen. Then come to a conclusion.
No Keevah, I will nevah embrace Zalazane unless it be wit’ a daggah in me hand. I know dat wouldno’ kill his spirit, but da idea do put a smile between me tusks.
I undahstand what ya be sayin’, dough, and whatchya be meanin;. Yes, dere be a time when Zalazane and I were closah dan broddahs. I would have wanted to share me life wit’im, fightin’ off our foes an’ defendin’ our home and people.
Howevah, I can’t keep me own desires ovah reality. It be unhealt’y fo me, an’ irresponsible as a leadah, to forgive Zalazane. His actions weren’t juss’ againss’ me, ya undahstand. Dey weren’t even juss’ againss’ da Loa, eiddah.
Zalazane tortured an’ abused his own people. My people! Dat is not sometin’ I can forgive. Garrosh did it, an’ we put dat dog down. Sylvanas be doin’ it, and we... We...
It don’ mattah how close any mon is, you do not harm my Darkspear Trolls an’ juss’ walk away. Not in dis life or da next.
Do you think you will ever get the chance to forgive Zalazane over in the Spirit World. I can understand that he doesn't deserve it -- but you can't hold to old wounds so fiercely. Take it from me; I may never forgive Gul'dan, or perhaps Grom. The only difference between them, is one redeemed himself.
Ya know, ya be absolutely right. I have no given it much t’ought before now, but I see whatchya be sayin’ Keevah. Zalazane absolutely does not deserve it.
I be a patient mon, undahstandin’ dat people can change. I be proof o’ dat. Given enough time, a mon can change da way he tinks o’ da world and dem wittin it. Zalazane be once my friend, but juss’ like me, he changed.
I see whatchya be sayin’ about redemtion, especially wit’ Grom Hellscream. Howevah, da mon be needin’ to feel da want to change. Zalazane’s craze and hungah fo’ powah be what changed him from da friend I knew to da monstah ‘im became.
I have been granted many chances to forgive Zalazane, but I have an’ will nevah do it. Da Troll I grew up wit’ died somewhere between da Darkspear Isles an’ da Echo Isles, an’ I will nevah see him again.
Sylvanas be a different breed o' Horde dan dem I t'rew my lot in. By dis I mean T'rall, Cairne, and Bain. Sylvanas be, in my mind, more similah to Gallywix, in dat she first an' foremoss' tinks about herself an' her Forsaken. I knew dis when she joined da Horde, an' especially aftah she returned from deat' a second time aftah da Lich King be defeated.
Were da decision left to me an' me alone, I... I would not have chosen her to be my successah. As I said on me lass' day, I have nevah trusted her. Dat only be a half trut'. I do not trust her to care for da full Horde, da livin' Horde. If tings had gone peacefully, an' we were not in dire need, I tink ya all know who I would have chosen.
Howevah, we were fightin' da Legion. We had marched an assault on deir invasion, an' we had loss'. In fact, we all would have los, if she hadno' called fo' a retreat. I would have nevah expected her to do dat! But... what I can trust her to do is spare no expense in fightin' an enemy. I have seen no oddah mon hold a grudge more fierce dan our Banshee Queen.
Dese be dark times, but in our darkest time, we need dem dat give no mercy to our enemies. Sylvanas be exactly dat type o' mon. So, fo' bettah or fo' worse, she became ya new Warchief. I know many did not undahstand. Many still don't, but dat call had to be made, for da servival o' da Horde.
Now, I had hoped da victory we shared across Azerot' would have been enough to create peace. But sadly fo' some, wars nevah die.
Especially to da deat'less...
Oh mon, da Warchief be a very busy mon. 'Im got so much on his plate day an' night. To disturb a Warchief at any moment, to take him away from his responsibilities at any time could possibly spell doom for da entire Horde...
Of course I messed wit' 'Im!
Dere be a time before all dis, when da Horde and da Alliance be at peace. In dose four years, T'rall spent his time gettin' to know da leadahs o' da Horde as best he could, learnin' deir ways, deir magics, deir lives. At dat time, T'rall knew what we be, but not who we were. Fo' Trolls, it be here dat he didno' know anytin' about voodoo or cannibalism...
Naturally I couldn't pass up dis golden opportunity.
I started by invitin' da mon to Sen'jin Village, tellin' 'im I also invited Cairne Bloodhoof an' 'im son Baine for a dinnah wit' da Trolls. Naturally T'rall be more dan excited to break bread wit' us. I told him to meet me at me hut at sunset, an' we'd have a feass' prepared for 'im an' his Kor'kron.
When he arrived, 'E apologized fo' bein' late, as he arrived juss' aftah sundown. I told 'im it be fine, dat we still needed time to make da stew. I also told him dat Cairne an' Baine be outside, smokin'. T'rall knew enough about Tauren to know dat dey enjoyed a good pipe before a meal. When he asked if he could speak wit' dem, I told him dey shouldn't be disturbed, he agreed.
Anyway, T'rall be feelin' bad about bein' late. So I told 'im it gave us time to talk while da stew be prepared by our Witch Doctah. Dis spurred T'ralls interest in Voodoo, an' since we had time on our hands, I told him I'd answah any questions he had. He gladly asked me all about da practices, da type o' magics, da Loa, everytin'.
I took da time to tell him everytin' about my people. I told him about blood sacrifices, about da hunger o' da Loa, especially Hakkar. We didno' worship da Soulflayah, but T'rall didn't know dat.
Heh, I could tell his stomach churned when he realized juss' how "Blood t'irsty" we Trolls really were.
Now, da Witch Doctah, Gadrin, has da bess' timin' I have evah seen on a Troll. Juss' as T'rall asks about cannibalism, I hear Gadrin shout out:
"Cookin's done! Stew Here!"
I suddenly drop answerin' T'rall's questions and get up, saying dat it be about time! We all go out to da cauldron an' Gadrin fills up our bowls. I watch da Kor'kron devour deir meals wit'out tinkin'. I chuckled to meself tinkin' "Yah, dat be Orcs fo' ya." Den I looked at T'rall...
Da mon be eyein' his stew, mullin' ovah what it could be. When he looked at me, I juss' smiled at 'im and ate me stew. Wit' a shrug, T'rall finally lifted da bowl an' drank da brot'. I remembah 'im sayin' it be delicious, den asked what be in it.
"It be smoked beef stew." I told 'im.
"But, Vol'jin..." T'rall said. "Dere be no cows in Durotar."
"Dere were earlier." Gadrin said. T'rall looked at da mon, who be smiling and churning da bubblin' stew. Den 'E looked at me, confusion all ovah his face.
"I told ya, Cairne an' Baine needed to smoke, before da stew be ready." I said. Mon... Ya shoulda seen da look on dat poor Orc's face. I will nevah forget da look o' terror and dread, tinkin' 'E juss' ate him own broddahs!
Ha! Still gets me to dis day.
"Khadgar! WHAT in Hellscreams name have you done and/or said to commit this uproar!?" *squints heavily in suspicion and criticism*
“Which uproar.”
"Who is this 'JarJar' you speak of archmage?"
“You don’t want to know.”
