The phone rings for a moment before there's a click on the other end. At first there's just background noise before Midori's voice raises up in the foreground. "Just a minute! You guys have had me for three days! It can wait half an hour, I haven't had a break all day!" A slight huff is heard as she finally pulls the phone up to her ear followed by a small squeal of delight.

“Kei-chan! It’s you right?! Oh, I’ve missed you so much! How've you been? Oh! Did you get your presents? I wasn't sure which color you liked for your cellphone so I got you pink but we can exchange it for another if you want!" Another excited sounding squeal escaped her and her wiggling in place was damn near audible as well. 

"Honestly, it's been way too long! How has your winter break been?" Suddenly the background noise seems to start to fade out, presumably from her moving to a quieter, more private, room. "If you want, when I get back, we can go out! Or stay in!" Honestly, she just wanted to see her best friend again.

A small, feminine, chuckle escaped the indigo haired woman’s mouth at hoow stiff her friend became. It was almost as if she’d been caught pilfering sweets before dinner by her parents or something! "You know you could just call me for help, right?"

Though she said that her smile fell slightly. She hadn't been the best friend/roommate lately. She'd let work completely isolate her and barely had contact with the people she cared about. But, instead of moping about it she decided to do something about it.

With a swiftness that would have startled most, the young woman reaches up and snags her friend by the waist. In moments she's pulled Keiko partway off the counter, letting most of the brunettes weight rest on her, embracing her tightly as if they hadn't seen each other in years.

"I'm sorry I was gone so long. I missed you, Keiko. . ."

[txt] : im so sorry![txt] : its been awful not seeing either of you![txt] : its finally calming down so maybe we can see each other soon?

Inuyasha rolled up the sleeves on his button up before wiping away the blood accumulating in the corner of his mouth, “Don’t worry about me. This ain’t nothing.” Spitting out the excess, Inuyasha grunted before standing to his feet using the wall behind him as a brace.

“It’ll heal eventually.” he winced, trying not to reveal too much about himself. “Who are you anyways?” From her scent, he could tell she wasn’t an ordinary human; like Kagome, but different.

    “I swear, the Christmas tree gets gaudier every year.” 

     She stared up at the fir tree, almost unimpressed by it. The shopping center could use something a bit more UNDERSTATED.

“Then maybe you should get a job here and tell them how to decorate the tree.” He suggested with a rather noticeable smirk across his face.

The tree didn’t matter to him regardless. It wasn’t really any of his concern how they put it up, considering he wasn’t the one to do it, or take it down once the holiday season was over.
