        > All you’ve done is gone from serving a self worshipping rebel to serving a reject demon with a god complex, and it’s not much of a step up. But you convince yourself that it is. Everyone else, you don’t feel that you have to convince, because they don’t know anything about it. They all have far more important things on their minds than you. 

You’re curled up under Kei’s bed, the three felines that mysteriously broke into his flat long since fled. Cats can feel these disturbances, the good vibes have all gone, the overhanging gloom making the room so stuffy and quiet that you almost feel you can’t breathe. 

“So where is he now?” you ask, tentatively. Having a conversation where you can’t see the other person but you can hear them is difficult for you. You don’t even like communicating online that much. Far prefer talking in person, face to face, so you can study their body language. But the topic is awkward and tense, and you know Kei doesn’t like showing his emotions, you don’t want to intimidate him. 

He sighs audibly and you hear the bed shift where he must’ve laid down. “Last I heard is what Kreed told you. Went awol and fucked a bunch of shit up. Banished people. Had some executed. Moved on. Wants everyone he once knew dead. I dunno.”

There’s silence then, and you feel like there’s more he wants to say. Maybe he doesn’t know how to. You awkwardly shuffle yourself out from under the bed, digging your claws into the mattress through the duvet to pull yourself up onto the bed next to Kei. Dragging your tail through the blood that you’re spilling onto the sheets, you curl up at his side and nudge him with your head. “That’s if you believe Kreed.” 

“What? Are you going against your master now?” You know he’s being sarcastic, but you can sense a little genuineness in it. 

You stick your tongue out a little, more of a blep than anything. “Don’t say it like that. ‘Master’ sounds so...” You wave your hand around like you can summon the right word from the very air. 

“Kinky?” Kei offers. 

You grimace. He laughs. Everything is okay for now.

        >After less than five minutes of explaining to your ex that you were in fact just really busy living your life and if anything was wrong you would’ve got hold of him -all lies of course- he lets you stay over. He said he would play on his ps4 until he got tired then he’d probably sleep on the sofa. He ended up using you as a backrest while you watched him play. He eventually falls asleep playing, with his head on your chest. You’re right back where you wanted to be.
