G Perico, DJ Drama, Keith Rice - Thankful (Official Video)
What are you like with animals?
Finn O’Connor
I knew Keith Rice HAD to have submitted his repentance scene to get up in that Dramatic Performance category... Real talk? Homie WAS good in that scene.
Hollyoaks Spoilers: Keith Rice says fans will see a “different Finn" in New Year!
#Hollyoaks Keith Rice says fans will see a “different Finn" in New Year! @KeithRice10
As we reported to you yesterday, Keith Rice is returning to Hollyoaks to reprise his role as rapist Finn O’Connor in the New Year and now he has revealed what we can expect.
Finn was last seen on our screens this autumn being sent to jail for the rape of John Paul McQueen (James Sutton) and the attempted rape of Nancy Osborne (Jessica Fox), after an emotionally and breathtakingly powerful jail…

We actually couldn’t be more excited about this if the news was delivered by Santa Claus himself, because it’s been revealed this weekend that Finn O’Connor is coming back to Hollyoaks!
Fans of the hit Channel 4 soap will know that Finn left the village this autumn after being found guilty of the rape of John Paul McQueen, and the attempted rape of Nancy Osborne (Jessica Fox).
The male rape storyline, whilst being incredibly hard-hitting and at times a tad distressing, did have one massive positive which was the immense and amazing talent that was showcased of not just the two main actors involved, James Sutton and Keith Rice, but also of their closest co-stars, Charlie Wernham who plays Finn’s friend Robbie Roscoe, and Alex Fletcher who plays Finn’s mum, Diane.
The storyline was so delicately and accurately handled that even the police backed it, and used it to front their own campaign to help raise awareness male rape.
So it was bittersweet when this storyline – which we watched play out over the course of nine months – came to a conclusion with Finn being punished for his crimes, but it did mean that we had to say goodbye to one of the most talented young actors this country has seen for a very long time, the aforementioned Keith Rice.
But now the powers that be at Channel 4 have now confirmed that Keith is making a return to the show, and will begin filming next week.
Digital Spy reports that Finn – whose emotionally charged final scenes saw him face-to-face with John Paul in prison with both characters discussing how the rape had made them feel – will only be back for a “handful” of episodes in a bid to bring the storyline to its final conclusion.
The site reports that this return will take not take place in the village, but rather back in the prison, with John Paul agreeing to visit his attacker after Finn, who has found life in jail very tough, reaches out to him having found a conscience over his actions.
It is thought that these visits will help John Paul finally put his own demons to bed, which is a twist in the tale that DS reports Hollyoaks bosses always intended to be part of the storyline.
What we are now hoping is that after these scenes air early next year, the audience will be able to get closure too and be supportive of the characters to the point that Keith will be welcomed back to reprise the role of Finn full-time once the teenager has served his sentence. After all, if this is the talent he produced in his first big storyline, imagine what else there could be to come!
Would you like to see Finn return once he has served his time? Do you think the audience can accept him back? Please leave your thoughts and comments below!
Hollyoaks airs on week nights at 6.3pm on Channel 4 / Channel 4 HD. Watch a clip of Finn’s trial below:
