what i said: monsters & mana is the best episode in voltron bc it’s super funny
what i meant: monsters & mana shows an in depth analysis of each character in voltron while revealing sides of their personalities not yet seen before in the show. the characters unknowingly create versions of themselves that reflect on how they see themselves on the team/what they want to be seen as. hunk sees himself as the big, bulky, fighter but really wants to be seen as a healer. pidge sees herself as very small but wants to be seen as ‘larger than life’ and can be a good fighter. allura knows she is seen as the princess who has some fighting skills when NECESSARY but she wants to help the team more and be on the front lines. lance makes himself a thief but also someone who ‘stays in the shadows’ therefore adding onto that he truly doesn’t believe he is a necessary asset on the team and almost some form of entertainment like a pet (hence the animal appearance). shiro/kuron is a whole different story since it’s mostly kuron. kuron sees himself as a valuable asset to the team and willing to help others but knows he has a bigger mission at stake. the other reason why he chose to be a paladin so much because shiro believes he HAS to be a paladin. shiro has had to be in so much hard places with being the leader (when he never chose to be) and believes that too many people are looking up to him that he cannot be anything else BUT a paladin.
