What Contents Then, Lie Within ⠀ An Object Poem⠀ ⠀ Translucent sheen built upon a refractory ⠀ of bladed edges and shamrock company, ⠀ I count all the edges, save there are none ⠀ and I'm left pondering about my companion.⠀ ⠀ Where have all his contents gone? ⠀ That bitter amber that pours like lava ⠀ yet remains sweet as honey in my throat. ⠀ Perhaps such sorrows are better left at sea⠀ ⠀ where his paisley figure wanders the deck ⠀ and I'm lulled to sleep among the wreck.⠀ ⠀ ...⠀ ⠀ This is an Object Poem that I'm working on in my Poetry Fundamentals course this term. For those of you who don't know, I'm currently enlisted in a MFA program at Southern New Hampshire University. Hope you all enjoy this one!⠀ .⠀ .⠀ .⠀ #poetrysociety #poetryoftheday #objectpoetry #kenlemarchand #allusion (at Waterville, Maine) https://www.instagram.com/p/Cbf2Zx6L9BO/?utm_medium=tumblr
