okay so since I didn't post yesterday and the day before(sorry about that.. my depression caught up to me and I did nothing but cry yesterday 💔) TODAY IS A TRIPLE SPECIAL. THREE, yes three, RAREPAIRS

today's rarepairs are: kenlev, bokuomi, and asadaisuga 😼

( Kenma Kozume x Lev Haiba + Bokuto Koutarou x Sakusa Kiyoomi + Asahi Azumane x Daichi Sawamura x Sugawara Koushi)

Kenlev:

oh they are so golden retriever x black cat, you can NOT tell me otherwise. I like to imagine that while Kenma games, Lev just sits there, excitedly ranting on about anything and everything. since most people don't want to listen to an over-excited first year rant about how amazing the ice cream he got at this local shop was, Kenma will listen.

But Kenma definitely yaps back. when Lev asks him how his game is going, he takes that as the perfect opportunity to start talking on and on about the storyline, how amazing the character development is, the details in character designs and back stories. he would also throw in a geeky comment about how good the graphics are or how he really likes the mechanics. Lev, not knowing what anything means, just nods along, happy that his boyfriend is talking about something that makes him happy.

When the team found out about their relationship, it was safe to say that EVERYONE was shocked. Kenma, a socially awkward teen who has such a low social battery it's almost depressing, and his boyfriend, Lev, the most energetic person you'll ever meet who somehow never runs out of topics to talk about. somehow they got together. and no one is complaining. they're cute and happy together.

Kuroo notices the difference in Kenma's moods. how much happier he is, how he smiles more around Lev, even if Lev is being an annoying dumbass. but Kenma still sneaks soft glances at Lev, looking at him like he's the most precious thing in the world.

Bokuomi:

oh they are SO cute together. Omi, who gets angered easily by Atsumu's antics, and Bokuto is the only one who can calm him down. AAAHHH they're made for each other. it's so cute. Kiyoomi's on the verge of actually crashing out, clenching his jaw so hard you can hear it pop. Bokuto steps in at just the right time, placing a hand on Kiyoomi's chest and telling him everything will be okay and he'll beat Atsumu's ass if he really has to. (Atsumu shrieked. Bokuto was joking)

Again, the team was shocked to find out about their relationship. How did they find out? Bokuto knew his boyfriend said he wanted to keep it private for a little bit.. but he just couldn't help but to post a picture of them kissing on their anniversary!

I feel like this ship works out VERY well because I can just imagine how touch-starved Kiyoomi is. coming from a rich background, I can imagine that his parents nor his siblings were around often, leading to Kiyoomi raising himself with not much love given to him. Bokuto, coming from a very loving and affectionate family, has grown to be affectionate himself. he gives everyone big hugs and pats on the back after they win especially brutal games. So when Bokuto is so open and happy with affection, Kiyoomi is pleasantly surprised. but he loves it. cuddling with Bokuto definitely healed him.

Asadaisuga:

Okay, here's how I imagine this going. DaiSuga got together first, the team celebrated because YAY! their parents have made their relationship official. (Nishinoya now strictly calls them mom and dad. nobody can make him stop.) But their relationship doesn't make their friendship with Asahi grow distant at all. if anything, they get closer. they make jokes about including Asahi all the time. One time Asahi walked in on DaiSuga making out in the gym closet. Suga jokingly called out, "do you wanna join us?" Asahi sprinted away.

And due to that joking flirting, Asahi can't help but to admit that yes, he did fall for his two best friends in a happy relationship. feeling so, so guilty about it, he probably goes to Suga and Daichi and confesses it right to their faces, literally on the verge of tears.

"I know you two are together, and I'm so sorry, I don't know where this came from, I don't know what to do, I didn't know how you were going to react, so I kept this from you for the last two months, but I'm so sorry I kept it a secret for so lo-"

and then daichi kisses him. and then they end up together. and now their family has grown.

cuddling can be a little awkward with these three since cuddling us usually for two, and three's a crowd. especially on one bed. but they make it work. sometimes DaiSuga just piles on top of Asahi, Suga, head resting on Asahi's chest while the rest of his body lays between Asahi's legs (no, not like that, you freaks.) and Daichi just piles on top. he also lays his head on Asahi's chest, and sure, that does lead him to lay at an awkward angle, but who cares. Asahi's a comfortable pillow.

Other times, Asahi cuddles with Daichi or Suga, while the other spoons Asahi from behind. typical three person cuddling position. but I just know they love each other sooo much

More Haikyuu headcanons!!

Pretty quickly after joining the team, like probably the very first day, Lev got a crush on Kenma. He saw a good looking and calm guy and had a gay panic…

Then he learned how scary Kenma can be when angry.

Lev definitely isn't asking Kuroo-san to be his plus-one to this wedding for crush reasons. Nope. Not at all.

Okay maybe just a little teensy tiny bit. Lev had a lot of love to give to a lot of people, alright? But mostly it was because the wedding was in Tokyo, and Kuroo-san is in Tokyo, and all of Vitya's cool skater friends would be there, and Kuroo-san would probably love to mingle with them, and make connections, and bring athletes closer together, and bridge the gap between Winter and Summer Olympic teams, and maybe do some promotions as well? Those all seemed like things Kuroo-san might be interested in.

And maybe Lev just didn't want to be the only one at the cousin table without a date. Even if that date was Kuroo-san. Who he definitely did not have (much of) a crush on.

For several minutes after sending the message, Lev stares anxiously at the set of three dots on Kuroo-san's side of the screen, vanishing and reappearing in uneven intervals. Was it too weird for Lev to have asked him? Did he not make it clear enough that he meant it purely platonically? Or maybe he was too clear... Lev generally didn't worry about such things, but the invention of read receipts had the ability to make even the most confident supermodel suddenly unsure.

Eventually Kuroo-san responds, but it's not the answer Lev wanted. And in fact, it's a little baffling.

kuroo-san!! > sorry, I'm busy that day. > you should ask kenma though

It wasn't that Lev hadn't considered asking Kenma. In fact, Kenma had been the first person that sprang to mind, even before Vitya and his fiance had pinned down Tokyo as the location. But Kenma was, well... Kenma. Lev knew well enough by now that he didn't do well with crowds of people, or loud noises, and weddings had both in endless supply.

But, on the other hand, Kuroo-san knew that about Kenma too - he knew Kenma better than anyone, really. And so Lev wondered if Kuroo-san knew something he didn't. Maybe it was worth trying to ask Kenma after all.

So he did.

Another endless wait passed, this one somehow even more nerve-wracking to Lev than the last, despite already knowing the answer would most assuredly be a firm 'no'.

Finally, blessedly, Lev's phone pings. He can't help it - he audibly gasps. He can't believe it.

kenma!!!! > sure. i'll go

To Kenma, every day feels like the one before. He does his online coursework, he checks his portfolio, he streams his games. He orders food for delivery. He texts Kuro. He doesn't text Shouyou. He's caught in a rut, and doesn't know how to get out. And if there's anything Kenma can't stand, it's when things aren't interesting.

Shouyou is interesting. Shouyou is on the other side of the world, being interesting without him. Kenma does what he can - will continue to do what he can. The distance from Miyagi to Tokyo doesn't seem so far now that it's in competition with the Pacific ocean.

Thankfully, the fans Kenma draws on his channel aren't the kind who need him to constantly be talking - he keeps quiet for the most part and lets his skills speak for him. This means that they don't know much about his personal life, like that he is - was - in a long-distance relationship. On that front, he doesn't need to worry.

But Kuro is a different story.

Kuro, who knows Kenma better than he knows himself. Kuro, who Kenma turned to first when Shouyou first suggested they take a break. Kuro, his annoying, meddling, troublesome best friend.

Kenma is sure Kuro is making plans to rescue him from the rut he was in. Kenma is too afraid to ask. Too prideful. But that doesn't mean Kuro won't spring it on him without permission anyway. It's really only a matter of time.

kuro > good news! > lev is about to ask you to go with him to his cousin's wedding > say yes

And there it is.

It's even more ridiculous than Kenma expected - weddings are noisy, and full of strangers, two things Kenma is notoriously bad with, and Kuro should know that better than anybody. And Lev -

Lev isn't a stranger, but he's as noisy as a whole bachelor party all on his own. He's loud and tactless and clumsy and earnest and striking and -

What.

No.

That is not a thought Kenma should be allowed to think. Even if the man is a literal supermodel now. Lev is... Lev.

lev > hey kenma!! i was wondering if you'd be free to come to my cousin Victor's wedding in a week?? you'd be doing me a huge favor. but i understand if not

It's a bad idea. It's a terrible idea. There's no way it can end well, Kenma thinks.

But Lev is... interesting.

And if there's one thing Kenma likes, it's people who are interesting.

Kenma ships I love

It’s Kenma’s birthday and Kenma’s birthday always makes me really excited!! This year, I wanted to post something about my favorite Kenma ships. (Hopefully I post it on the 16th and don’t forget...) 

I love Kenma with almost any second or third year character. I’m not picky. But there are definitely ships I see as superior or my go to in reading or rp. 

1. Kuroo x Kenma - Childhood friends to eventual lovers. They already get along so well and respect and value each other while maintaining a teasing and fun relationship. They understand each other. They see each others abilities. They work well together. They’ve known each other for a long time. Even in AU’s where they haven’t, their personalities still balance each other out and push each other to be better versions of themselves. And Kuroo doesn’t mind Kenma’s personality which can be blunt and rough around the edges. He’s not the easiest person to handle. But Kuroo knows how and knows not to take things personally. And I just love them. There’s so many things I don’t have the time to write here.

2. Bokuto x Kenma - I feel like Bokuto could pull Kenma out of his shell more and open up his world. Plus there are some similarities between Bokuto and Kuroo and I love Kuroken so why not. But I also feel like Kenma could respect Bokuto and vice versa and Kenma would find his enthusiasm and occassionally childlike behavior endearing. And I think, like Kuroo, Bokuto could brush off Kenma’s sarcasm and blunt/rude behavior and comments. But when he couldn’t, Kenma would be able to take a chill pill and comfort him. I think their vastly different energy levels and different mental abilities would be their biggest obstacle but they could work. And they balance each other out well. Plus Bokuto getting so excited he ends up making Kenma just a little bit excited for something or at least smiling is so cute.

3. Daishou x Kenma - A fairly rare pair but someone once pointed out that Kenma seems to be the only Nekoma player Daishou respects and likes and doesn’t want to see hurt. And ever since then I have shipped them. I think Kenma could handle Daishou’s personality and Daishou would respect him. And I just think the snake has a soft spot for the kitty and could turn him on to the idea. Again, he’s a more outgoing person like the other two so I feel he’s a good match. On the downside, I’m not sure he’ll call Kenma out for his bullshit as much as the others and I’m not sure Kenma will do the same for him either. So maybe they aren’t the sweet couple you want to invite for tea..?

4. Kyoutani/Yamamoto/Tanaka x Kenma - Either one of these or all three. I love the balance of these rough and loud boys with this quiet but honest strong Kenma. I love the idea of these three getting in trouble and Kenma just shaking his head and grabbing them by the ear. I love the amount of sighing Kenma would probably do. Also, I think they would all be able to handle Kenma’s personality and brush off his sarcasm. And they’d pull him out into the world more. 

5. Lev x Kenma - I got accidentally turned onto this ship a little while ago and it’s probably the only ship on here with a first year, but I think Lev works well personality wise for many of the same reasons Bokuto and Kuroo do. I think it would take time and a lot of heartache on Lev’s part before it clicked, but I can def see Lev with Kenma. Kenma’s sarcasm might be difficult for Lev but many of the comments would bounce off. And Lev is persistent enough to get through to Kenma, especially if Kenma loved him.

6. Oikawa x Kenma - Again, a more outgoing extroverted person works well with Kenma. Also both are intelligent and Kenma could stand his ground and call out Oikawa’s bullshit while Oikawa could easily handle social stuff Kenma didn’t want to deal with. Downside... Kenma would be a lot more noticed than he probably feels like being. But I think the two could work it out. And Oikawa dressing Kenma up in awesome clothes and helping him find another side to himself or just the two of them on the couch with apple pie and milkbread is cute.

Now we’re getting to some of the pairs I like, but think might not be as interesting to read about or rp. Mostly because I see them as being calm and very domestic without a lot of interesting things happening unless it’s an Au and you throw some problems in.

7. Iwaizumi x Kenma - Iwaizumi is fairly calm and level headed and so is Kenma. Though Kenma could definitely get on Iwa’s annoyed side with his blunt almost rudeness and disregard for hygiene, chores, and everything else he has no interest in. But aside from that, it’s a fairly calm relationship and I think they could still balance each other out. Plus both of them bitching about what stupid thing their childhood best friend did now or coming home after babysitting said friend at some hang out all night and just being exasperated and done together is cute.

8. Akaashi and Kenma - This is only so low on the list because it’s too calm for me. Both of them are similar personalities and would get along fine but I feel both do better with an opposite to open up their world more. But, that said, Kenma and Akaashi being the quiet couple in the corner observing everyone so they can bitch and gossip later is great!

9. Kageyama x Kenma - I actually do like this one but I’m still new to this idea and haven’t seen a lot for them which is why it’s so far down. But if someone has some good fics or headcanons for these two, PLEASE SEND THEM MY WAY. Thanks.

10. Daichi x Kenma - Tbh I’m getting to some of the ships I think about but don’t love as much. My favorite thing about this ship is just the idea of a tech savvy Kenma and a tech incompetent Daichi. And that’s more fandomy/au than anything. But it still makes it onto my list. Daichi in general is a little too domestic/fluffy in ships for my taste but there could definitely be some cute things between these two! And Kenma banging his head on the wall because Daichi is a dad with tech is great.
