Not to get political in the middle of the night but I want to say while Kyle Rittenhouse did act in self defense that doesn't change the intent was to go to a counter protest with a gun. Say what you will but I don't think showing up to "defend property" with a gun means he's going there to stand there menacingly. Whether his tears on trial are real or not, I know the kind of circles the kid was in. They glorify this kind of stuff, based on his actions I think he felt like a hero and then genuinely terrified whether it started before or after pulling the trigger. I do not like the idea of just letting him off though. That will just push more people to try and act in the same way since they assume there will be no consequences for putting yourself in a situation where you can justify murder as self defense. It is not entirely Kyle's fault though and it's important he is not dehumanized. He is a kid. His mom supposedly dropped him off with the gun and before the shooting he was left alone. He was alone on the "opposing" side in his eyes and with the fear he had been fed, I can see why he acted the way he did. I want to reiterate, it is his fault to an extend but I truly believe not only blame but cases should be brought to the people who encourage and enable this kind of behavior.
kyle rittenhouse.. the guy in kenosha wisconsin that was arrested for killing 2 people and injuring a third during the blm protests earlier this august/july was freed from all charges today...

Look. I'm not going to go into all the details. This is my stance. The fact is, Kyle Rittenhouse is a Murderer. Capital M. His intent can be proven and self defense arguments won't work on me. He knowingly crossed state lines with an illegally obtained weapon, into an area where he could guarantee tensions were high enough that he and the sight of his weapon would not be recieved well, and that would make him feel justified in shooting anybody who made him feel even slightly threatened. That constitutes premeditated murder. He went there planning to kill. He succeeded. He is not a fucking hero. He's not some kid who was in the wrong place at the wrong time. He's just another modern day supremacist youth with a murder fantasy that he got to fulfill at the expense of several peoples' lives, welfare, and mental well being. He did all of this, and was still able to go home and sleep in his cozy bed before he was taken in peacefully.
This is why we say Black Lives Matter.
