Morning Musume. ’26 welcomes its first 18th generation member at Hello! Project Hina Fes 2026

Sugihara Meisa (14), promoted from Hello! Project Kenshuusei, made her official debut on stage, overwhelmed with emotion as she was warmly embraced by her new senpai. With Sakura Oda gently patting her head and Miki Nonaka reassuring her by her side, this moment perfectly captures the essence of Morning Musume: a legacy built on support, growth, and passing the torch.

It’s been nearly 3 years since the last additions, marking the beginning of a new era for the group. And this is just the first… more 18th gen members are expected to follow.

A new story begins here!

モーニング娘。’26に18期メンバーの1人目、杉原明紗ちゃん（14）が加入！🌸 ハロプロ研修生から昇格し、「Hello! Project ひなフェス 2026」のステージでお披露目されました。緊張と感動で涙をこぼす中、小田さくらちゃんが優しく頭に手を添え、野中美希ちゃんがそっと寄り添う姿は、モーニング娘。らしい“受け継がれる絆”そのもの。

約2年10ヶ月ぶりとなる新メンバー加入で、ここからまた新しい物語が始まります。18期は今後も発表予定…これはほんの始まり。

'Good H!P singers were good before they joined?' no. How would that apply to the H!P kids, younger kenshuusei, or other girls that really just put in the work to improve themselves? Wada Ayaka is a great example, her singing was not very good, and while she's gotten much better, her technique revolves around ways of hiding that she doesn't hold notes well without going sharp. Plenty of girls joined H!P having already been good, like Moe, but lots grew their skills in KSS or after debuting. I don't get why people don't like groups formed of KSS. They know what to expect, they learn H!P songs, they learn H!P skills. It's been a thing in recent time that H!P has talented or skillful idols, it only makes sense because most KSS debut with greatly improved skills. Remember how good Juice=Juice was straight out of the gate? Kobushi Factory? There is something to be said of watching them grow in the group, but KSS is there to help them bridge a gap they might not be able to surmount w/o.

Good evening! It's Kaga Kaede (· (ェ) ·)

Today, the kenshuusei's stage play "Bokutachi Karen na Shounen Gasshoudan" I went to "assault" in the rehearsals! !

This play is a remake of the original one in 2014 The H!P Kenshuusei of that time starred the musical as a remake, the cast of this occasion is completely different !! (° ∀ °) b

In the original play that was done in 2014 I was a kenshuusei and I was cast of the play so, today, they allowed me to see the rehearsal  ('∀`)

I went with Yamagishi Riko-chan from Tsubaki F.

As I watched, I felt nostalgic.

Because it was my second stage play, I was almost a beginner I wans't good at acting but, Looking now, in the present with experience, I would have liked to do more in those days, I felt regrets lol

Ohgi Kei-san, Takahashi Ai-san also appeared, For the first time in a while I could see Ohgi Kei-san, I participated in Pharaoh no Haka with her! !

I was very happy...

Also, it was the first time I could see Takahashi Ai-san participate in front of my eyes, I studied her with the "eyes"  of a student in a school trip hahaha

To all the kenshuusei that appear in the musical, I wish you can have fun acting and singing !! \(^_^)/

All right!! Tomorrow we will appear in the NKH "UtaCon" !!! Please, take a look !! and get ready to record it (¯ ー ¯) ☆

I'm happy for KSS debuts because those girls deserve it with how they work, but why does J=J need to join ANGERME and MM as groups that get new members regularly? I was okay with Ruru, Yanamin and Manakan but they don't need to add kids to change up the group. :(
