THERE USED TO BE KENTUCKY HOMESTUCK MEETUPS CALLED KENSTUCKIES?????????
Hello smol child that came into my bookstore, I'm the homestuck at the register you talked to for like 10 minutes
a selfie from today's homestuck meetup!
hoohoohoo! :B
EXPECT LOTS OF NEPETA SELFIES TODAY!!!
HAHAHA I am super behind? On everything, in my life, always. BUT it’s that time again! And, as the last for reals live-Homestuck party, we should make it a big one to get together and gush about the finale!
WHERE: Louisville, KY. Cherokee Park, Hogan’s Fountain! Yes, we’re going back to the old stomping grounds. C:
WHEN: April 17, 2016! Nooish pm. Important: THIS IS A SUNDAY! Not a Saturday this time!
WHO: YOU. THAT’S RIGHT, YOU. Are you a Lexingtonstuck? Welcome. Are you an Indianastuck? Come on down. IF YOU CAN MAKE IT TO LOUISVILLE, YOU ARE WELCOME.
WHAT: Bringing food is of course, VERY appreciated! Traditionally we order a pizza, so you might want to bring a bit of cash.
OTHER STUFF: Cosplay is totally welcome, but not required! As we will be out and about, be mindful of your troll paint and be sure to seal!
LARP MAYBE????: From time to time the local LARP groups go to Cherokee Park on Sundays. Not sure where they’ll be- they’re tricky buggers to find. BUT if they’re out and about, don’t intrude on their game and mess with them. They’re here to have fun too!
ETIQUETTE: Always ask before engaging any physical contact! I always love hugs, but not everyone enjoys being touched. Always ask permission! Respect when someone says no! Also, keep age differences in mind. There will be a mix of ages here, and I don’t want anyone feeling uncomfortable!
ALL AGES ARE WELCOME! But if you are of age please don’t bring any alcohol! And, don’t drink till later when the old people can party and talk about mortgages and we might head over to Troll Pub.
EVEN IF YOU CAN’T MAKE IT, SPREAD THE WORD TO THOSE WHO MIGHT BE ABLE TO!
The kind of nonsense that ends up at my house
Sooo yesterday at work I may have accidentally gotten a 12-year-old grounded??
She was making a Scalemate but had kind of a funky pattern. (Not the typical one people use.) The mom seemed really confused that I was talking about “official ones” and she thought I meant an official pattern, not an official toy. The girl and I chatted for a second about Scalemates and how I love mine- I’ve got a handmade one and an official one.
She said “There are so many Homestucks in the city!” I told her that there’s a group that meets up, and her mom immediately interceded to say “TO DO WHAT?” I told her we did meetups at parks for cosplay, etc... I told her the youngest little we had was 12, and she pointed to her daughter and said, “good, she’s 12.” And before thoughts processed completely, I said, “Wow, and you’ve read Homestuck?”
At this point her mom narrowed her eyes and said, “Maybe she shouldn’t be...”
I told her our group was a really good, nice group of kids and we have a Facebook- “Oh, she’s not on Facebook. I’ll look it up.”
Dear cute kid who came into my store I am so sorry I hope I didn’t get you grounded sdjfnsdjkfnk
