“Wait, wait, wait. Okay, run that by me again, you want me to do what exactly?”
@havvkinsqueen liked for a starter!
“Hey Chrissy,” The brunet called from a short distance away. He wanted to catch her before she and the rest of the cheerleaders headed out. Practice had just ended for both of them, cheerleaders and basketball player alike. Despite both of them running in the same circles, the two didn’t really talk much aside from the occasional after game party at Benny’s. She seemed nice enough, it wasn’t that, if he was honest Jason was the reason. Despite being his team captain, Kent truthfully didn’t particularly get along with Jason all that well. Both of them had different ideas about high school and how you should treat the people around you– Jason thought it was cool to put down other people for being less popular than them, while Kent didn’t want part of that, he just wanted to play ball.
At times the jock felt like an outcast in his own team considering all the other guys seem to just follow along with whatever their captain says, but Kent always decided to stay out of it. The two earned to coexist with each other to keep the peace, and that was more than fine to Ken. However, with all that in mind? There was no doubt in his mind that Jason wouldn’t like him talking to his girlfriend, even if it was just cordial pleasantries. “Can I talk to you for a second?” Despite what some of the guys said in the locker rooms, Kent firmly felt like the cheerleaders were part of the team, and with Chrissy seeming so off lately he was concerned. Maybe it was weird to bring it up since they’d only talked a handful of times, but he wanted to make sure everything was okay. He’d feel really shitty if there was something going on and he didn’t at least ask if there was anything he could do.
“Hey, hope I’m not keeping you with it being Friday and all. I just wanted to ask if you were okay? You’ve seemed kind of down lately, and I wanted to check in. It’s not any of my business, so you don’t have to tell me anything you don’t want to, but I’m here if you ever need anything.” He didn’t want her to feel obligated to tell him all of her personal affairs, but if she needed a listening ear, Kent was always happy to help a fellow teammate out.

Sometimes after practice, Kent liked running a few laps around the track field. It was usually pretty quiet with no one around and honestly the teen found himself really craving some silence after being around the team so much. The guys made him angry, and Kent was not an angry guy, in fact it was rare you ever actually saw him mad. He could raise his voice like his father and cause hurt feelings by saying cruel things he didn’t mean, but he didn’t want to be like that. Instead, the brunet went running anytime he felt the heat of anger crawling up the back of his neck, purged the emotion into something productive as his outlet. He’d only stopped for a second to catch his breath, wiping the sweat from his brow before the sound of a familiar voice behind him caused him to jump. Kent hadn’t even heard her coming. “Oh, hey Becky. Not that long. I’m not keeping the cheerleaders from using the field, am I?”

Kent loved playing ball, don’t get him wrong, but lately when it was time for practice he genuinely just couldn’t wait for it to be over. Hearing Andy talk about which girls were wild in bed was just downright disrespectful, and Cal always priding himself on all the ‘freaks’ he pushed around that day almost made Kent see red. Most of the guys on the team were awful people, which was surprising to the brunet when he first joined the team. He doesn’t remember middle school being as judgmental, but times changed he supposed. Just not for the better...
Letting the gym door shut behind him, Kent heading out towards the track field and sat down on the bleachers, happy to be outside and away from the guys. It was late enough that the cheerleaders and track team have long since went home, leaving a perfectly empty field behind. He felt like he could finally hear himself think properly now. However, he wasn’t alone for very long when Jason’s sister suddenly climbed up the bleacher stair, heading his way. He’s only met her a few times, usually when she was waiting on Jason to give her a ride home. Jill is her name he thinks, right? Hearing her words, Kent scooted over and made room for her to sit, not at all questioning why she decided to sit right next to him when there was a whole empty bleacher of seats available. “Sorry about that.” He replied genuinely as he moved, not meaning to seem unfriendly if it came across that way. Just because Kent didn’t care for her brother didn’t mean he had issues with Jill.

It wasn’t that Kent was opposed to the idea, truly he wasn’t, but last time he heard Chrissy was dating Jason and Kent wasn’t the kind of guy to go after someone else’s girlfriend (even if the guy was a total dick). The jock also wasn’t too sure about being a rebound if this was a recent change. “Chrissy... don’t take this the wrong way, because I’m not saying no, it’s just that I don’t feel comfortable going forward with this if you’re already spoken for.”

“I wasn’t, I just said I don’t know if I think we’d get along.” Admittedly, Kent never really knew what to think about ‘King Steve’. The name itself always felt pretentious truthfully, and ever since Steve quit the basketball team it was obvious Jason was desperately trying to take his place as Hawkins High’s self-appointed ‘king’. The jock was born and raised in Hawkins like the most of them, heard about the Harrington family and knew about the way Steve used to treat people. He didn’t seem like the kind of person Kent wanted to be associated with, so why Harrington was suddenly asking him to hang out after years of growing up together and never paying him any mind before was totally lost on Kent. “Look, I just think we’re different people, man. We played ball together when we were young, but we haven’t talked since then.”

[ INHALE ]: while standing in very close quarters to the receiver, the sender shakily inhales with desire/anticipation as they realize how intimately close they are to one another.
It had all happened too quickly before he could stop himself– the late bell chiming through the halls, students scattering in every direction in a desperate attempt to avoid a tardy slip, teachers rushing people along as if everybody wasn’t already in a hurry. Then that’s when it happened, another student accidentally bumping into Kent causing him to stumbling forwards. It really was an accident, proven so by the rushed but genuine apology thrown his way before the person ran off, leaving Iris and Kent in quite the awkward situation.
Pure luck is what kept him from falling on his ass, a hand reaching out just in time to catch the locker that just so happened to be the one Iris was leaning again. The way he had landed made him tower over her with one hand against the wall and the other on the locker door, pinning the girl between him and the wall. Their faces were practically inches apart, from afar they definitely looked like a couple about to kiss which is exactly why a nearby teacher scolded them from afar. “No PDA, you two! You guys will see each other after class, now move on now before you’re late, lovebirds.”
Finally seeming to snap back to reality, the senior backed out of her space, hoping he hadn’t made her too uncomfortable by being so close. He let out a breath he hadn’t even realized he was holding, a nervous chuckle. “Sorry about that, I didn’t mean to invade your personal space or anything like that. I’ll see you after class?”
