Kenshi Takahashi and Zale Calixto were chilling at home. Kenshi was sharpening his sword, Sento, and Zale was on his phone, scrolling through social media, while some show was playing in the background. As Zale was scrolling through his phone, he received a call from his brother, Justus.
Zale: “Hey, hey, hey! What’s up brother! I didn’t expect you to call.”
Justus: “Yeah, yeah, I know. I’ve just been busy. Between Raiden, Skarlet and the kids, you know.”
Zale: “Don’t worry, I understand. But why did you decide to call? You’re not really one for calling people, not even me.”
Justus: “Because I actually have some time off from work, and I figured that I might spend it with my favorite brother. On his permission of course.”
Zale: “Of course you can. Is it just you that’s coming?”
Justus: "Yeah. Skaret's busy, and the kids will be as well. So, it's just me."
Zale: "Well, it's just me and Kenshi here, so feel free to come by whenever you like."
Justus: “Alright. Will do.”

The night after, when Kenshi and Zale are getting ready for dinner, there’s a knock on the door. Zale then looks at the time. Considering the time, and that it was almost night, with the sun setting in the distance, the water gorgon knew exactly who was at the door.
Zale: “Well, looks like my brother’s here.”
Kenshi: “Excellent. Just in time to join us for dinner.” The blind swordsman says as Zale answers the door.
Zale: “I see that you made it ok.” I didn’t expect you to show up this early though. It’s not really like you.”
Justus: “I figured the earlier the better.”
Zale: “That’s true, I guess. Would you like to come in? I just finished making dinner.”
Justus: “Sure. What did you make?”
Zale: “Your favorite. Steak with some mashed potatoes. I did your steak on the rarer side, as well as mine. As I know that’s how we prefer ours. Especially since we’ve turned. And don’t worry, I didn’t use any garlic for either of the dishes.”
Justus: “Thank you. You always know how to please.” The vampire remarks as he walks inside, Zale closing the door.
Zale: “That’s usually my intention.”

The 3 men then eat and chat. They don’t really talk about much, Kenshi and Zale catching up with Justus, and Justus catching up with Kenshi and Zale. After finishing his meal, Zale goes to take a shower.
Zale: “Do you mind if I take a shower, Just? I usually take one in the morning,as we’ve been getting things ready for when you arrive, I haven’t really gotten to.” The water gorgon asks.
Justus: “Sure. Take your time.”
Zale: “Thanks bro.” Zale then pecks Kenshi on the lips and gives Justus a quick hug. One in which Justus returns. This leaves Justus and Kenshi alone.

While Justus and Kenshi are alone, they head to the living room, Justus sitting on a recliner, while Kenshi sits on the couch. While sitting there, they continue to talk to each other, Justus explaining some of his past. Some that Zale may not have known. They continued to talk until Zale came back and Justus decided to help Zale with the dishes. They then did whatever until Kenshi and Zale decided to head to bed, Justus staying up and just watching TV in the guest bedroom that Zale had set up for him and whatnot.
As the week went on, Justus and Kenshi would have conversations like these, whether they be about something important or just something that they felt like talking about. To the point that they got closer, Kenshi often stayed in Justus’ room while they talked and did stuff, which Zale didn’t really mind at first, as he was glad that Kenshi was getting along with his brother., But he found it weird with how much Kenshi was spending time with Justus and even going to his room to do so.
One night, when Kenshi comes into his and Zale’s bedroom, Zale decides to ask Kenshi about it.
Zale: “Kenshi dear, could you please close the door? You know, while you’re up?”
Kenshi: “Of course, Zale.” Kenshi comments as he does what Zale had asked of him.
Zale: “Say, do you mind if I talk to you about something? Something that’s been going on recently?”
Kenshi: “Of course. What did you want to talk about?” The swordsman asks, turning back towards the water gorgon.
Zale: “Well, let me get to the point that I want to get to here. Are you doing anything with my brother? Don’t tell me that you're dating and cheating on me with my brother behind my back. It’s just not like you, Ken.”
Kenshi: “No, I’m not dating your brother, Zale. Don’t worry. Me and Justus have just been planning something that we just can’t have you knowing about. Because as you see, it pertains to you.”
Zale: “Planning? What exactly are you two planning?”
Kenshi: “As much as I would like to tell you, I’m afraid that I cannot, as it’s a surprise. You will know in a couple days, my serpent.”
Zale: “Uhm… okay… if you say so.”

And as it turns out, Kenshi was right. Zale would see what he was talking about that night before bed. Because a couple days later, or should I say night, when Zale came back from running some errands and such, he came across his house being seemingly empty. Justus and Kenshi are nowhere to be seen. All of the TVs were turned off, a couple lights were on in the kitchen, and the sound of a clock ticking could be heard. Zale found this odd. Especially considering that he didn’t see any sort of note around. The gorgon then takes his phone out.
Zale: “Hmm, they haven’t called or texted me either. That’s odd.” Zale remarks as he walks around, turning on a lamp. Once Zale turns on the lamp, he notices the surprise that Kenshi had mentioned. A surprise party. A surprise party which he assumed was for himself.
Zale: “For me? Kenshi? Justus? Did you two know about this?”
Kenshi: “Of course we did, Zale.”
Justus: “Why else do you think we're here? Me and Kenshi are the ones who planned this out.”
Kenshi: “Indeed. That is why I was spending so much time with Justus at night. We wanted to make your birthday perfect, and as Justus is only awake at night with him being a vampire, that’s the main time we could do our planning. I’m sorry that you believed that it was because you thought that I was unfaithful.”
Justus: “Wait, you thought that Kenshi was cheating on you with me?”
Zale: “...Maybe…”
Kenshi: “He did.” This just causes Justus to laugh, causing Zale to be somewhat more embarrassed. Kenshi smiling at the two.
Rose: “Mind if we join the fun?” Justus’ daughter asks, coming from behind a couch.
Saber: “Yeah, are we gonna start the party or what?” Saber asks the group including his dad and uncle, coming from behind the same couch as Rose.
Kenshi: “Of course we can. I guess that you two are Justus’ and Skarlet’s kids?”
Rose: “Yep!”
Saber: “We are.”
Justus: “Speaking of, did your mother tag along as well? Or is she still busy working?”
Saber: “Yeah, mother came as well.”
Rose: “She’s in the kitchen finishing up uncle Zale’s cake.”
Zale: “Cake?”
Rose: “Yeah. She made the other food at home, she just had to make the cake, so she decided to make it here with the help of us. And when dad and Kenshi saw you coming, we hid.” Rose explains as the five head to the kitchen.
Zale: “So, I finally get to meet you. I’ve heard about you from Justus and others. Mainly from Justus though.”
Skarlet: “As have I, gorgon.”
Zale: “Direct. I like that.”
Saber: “Hey, Kenshi?!”
Kenshi: “Yes, Saber?”
Saber: “Is it true that you have a sword? Just like me and dad?”
Kenshi: “I do. Mine’s name is Sento, and it carries my ancestors.”
Saber: “Awesome!”

This is a kind of late thing that I decided to do for Zale’s birthday, as Zale’s birthday was in January. I didn’t mean to do Zale a surprise party at first when I started writing the prompt, but as I was writing, I decided why not.
