Thoughts on the Elezen bow.

tl;dr Keroa gets racist about elves.

For the longest time, the Elezen bow just bothered me. The subtlety of the motions, what my mind was interpreting as body language that always seemed to speak of irritation on any Elezen bowing. It was like, as their head rolled back and their eyes closed I always thought that the high and mighty elezen npc’s thought they were too good to actually show this gesture of courtesy, and were hiding the disgust on their faces. Then I noticed, only the MEN were rolling their head back like that. I checked, and no, the females did not share this nuance. AND I FIGURED OUT WHY ELEZEN MEN DO THIS. To this end, I have borrowed @cheynegel and @dantalionkesarch in demonstration. Both elezen bend to the same height, however, the females do not hold this position for nearly as long as the male does. The Males hold the position for much longer, causing the blood to displace and possibly settle within their skulls, and also possibly fuck with their sense of balance. SO  WHEN THEY COME UP, THEY TILT THEIR HEAD BACK GENTLY TO AVOID GETTING DIZZY AND/OR LOOSING BALANCE. They arent being snarky or haughty at all. thats them dealing with “shit shit Im gonna fall over fuck fuck no wait you got this, elegance. gently.. gently.. whew ok im good.” because being tall and displacing your center of balance can seriously mess you up if you aint careful. And thats the story of how Keroa’s pre-existing experiences with Elvaan’s in XI colored her perception of elezen in XIV and she realized she was just being racist towards Elezen. Good job, Kero.
