Today is my last day as the head of the Sales and Marketing team. Honestly I didn’t want to make a big deal out of it. I had wanted to just spend my last day with them, pack the last of my things, and then fade away quietly into the night (ha ha!). That was my plan. But of course I knew in my heart that my team wouldn’t let that happen. So they concocted this elaborate plan to surprise me, which, to be frank, I could smell as far back as a week ago. 😂 I had to play along and pretend I didn’t know anything, but they were so obvious, from the get-go. (Mauna, generic pala, ha?!) Mahal na mahal talaga nila ako, at habangbuhay kong ipagpapasalamat sa Diyos yung pagkakataon na makatrabaho ko sila. 💕 Salamat sa pa-surprise, sa pagkain, sa mga regalo, sa padasal, sa honoring, sa pagmamahal. I was reading this for work, but it worked for my soul instead. I never truly minded being single, and whenever the subject of dating up, I’d just shrug and smile and come up with a witty comment. Nowadays, I hardly read books on waiting and dating because I’m most at peace with my current season. I’ve always believed that beautiful things take time, and what God is preparing for my love life is something so beautiful and is somewhat of a “custom-made order”, so it’ll take some time before it’s ready. That’s okay. I’m okay with waiting. So this book kind of blindsided me when it suddenly started hitting me where I would feel the most impact: my soul. I’m not going to say much about it. You should go read it yourself. One thing it did for me though, that I would forever be thankful to my friend for, is that on Valentine’s Day, it brought my heart back home to God. En route to Davao for KCon Mindanao, and I realize that I haven’t yet honored the team for KCon Visayas. Here’s to shuffling from one island to the next at the crack of dawn, and then immediately unboxing the books and counting them, before hauling stocks to the venue for set up. Here’s to late nights and early mornings. To inventories and store visits all over the province. Here’s to cheers and laughters amidst back-breaking work, to food partaken in, and memories made. Here’s to the generosity of our hosts, to the amazing service of the servants, and the overall entirely different experience in an entirely different part of the archipelago. Once, long ago, I stopped writing. I didn’t have anything more to say. I didn’t have anything more to write about. And around the same time, #projectbeautifulwords became all about impressions, when in the beginning, it was all about inspiration. It became all about obligation, when at its best true core, it was all about a mission. @projectbeautifulwords became all about me, when in the beginning it wasn’t even about MY words. It was all about His Word. I lost the words because I relied on what I have, and what I know. I was limited, so I ran out. But His Word? Limitless. These are the devotionals that helped me get the words back. Whenever we write, we have to remember that though it starts from us, it always has to go beyond us.
