Between low-grade and unexpected-symptom, you’re doing really well troubleshooting this.
I wish I'd realized it sooner... but so far so good, right? And I think it had been building for so long that I didn't realize how constant it had become until the last few days, because suddenly I just feel better. It's like when you have a nasty bout of cramps for a few hours and then they finally fade and you feel like you could float away.

I might have slight intolerance, pure milk makes my intestines really complain. And I can’t eat strawberry cheesecake without getting a big headache. Which is sad because strawberry cheesecake! D; Choco-milk is a pass, which I find odd. o_o
Yeah I think it comes in all degrees. I was reading about which products have more or less lactose in them... and chocolate milk was actually listed as being less of an issue than milk. I suspect it might be something to do with how it's made... they might even pre-break down the lactose in it. Butter is safe because lactose is water-soluble and water is removed in the butter-making process. That's also why hard cheeses are better than soft ones.

The (diy) test I heard for stuff like this is go at least a week without, and then have a bunch of it.

Glad you’re trying to figure this out. When I went through it, I was told to wait at least a week before over-indulging. Fingers crossed for you.
I might make it to Monday, anyway... We have a big potluck planned at work. I was going to make cheesecake for it, natch. I'll have to decide how I want to approach it.

Milk and dairy allergies tend to go unnoticed because they can manifest in adulthood. I developed it and my ONLY symptom ever was nausea that got more and more severe.
Huh, sounds a lot like what's happening to me. I'd just not heard of that version of it before, so it didn't occur to me to test until this week. :P
