Anyone ever think about how Khem’s ancestral bloodline isn’t actually responsible at all for Ramphueng’s baby being murdered?
I think of this quite a bit.
She felt rightfully angry that Krongkhwan and her mother, Kakanang, lied to the father. And then that man sent her to be whipped and tortured.
But Ketkaew, the actual murderer, had lost multiple pregnancies/babies, and thus no actual bloodline descendants to curse.
So, all that anger and betrayal got solidified onto Kakanang and Krongkhwan’s bloodline.
Like, do I think it’s a bit irrational to haunt Khem saying things basically blaming him for his past life’s version being the cause of her losing her son?
Yeah, I do… because Krongkhwan lied, sure, but wasn’t the reason for the son’s murder. Also, she was like, what five or six?
Sure, would it have been great if she had told the truth? Absolutely. But she was a terrified and traumatized (she did witness her half brother being murdered by her father’s first wife) child who listened to their mother who probably also seemed frantic and terrified. I mean, Ketkaew so easily murdered a baby, what was to stop her from murdering a kid that won’t do what she wants?
So truly, while I understand the anger, hell even the bloodline curse (because Krongkhwan’s bloodline is her mother’s and father’s and both of them and Ketkaew were to blame for the torture she endured), the actual blame should have been laid at the feet of the adults, not a child doing what they were told to do.
Like, Khem being cursed is fine, but Khem being blamed isn’t. 🤷♀️
Although, mad respect for Ramphueng holding onto her anger for as long as she did and still serving looks from the afterlife.💅👸
