It's the second time Khem offers compassion and kindness to someone who wronged him. He did once with Chayod and this time again he did it with Ramphueng.

It makes sense that Khem would empathize with Ramphueng. He saw the suffering she had to bear because of the jealousy of the first wife.

Way before, Ramphueng also tried to do the same thing with the first wife to save her son's life. And just like, Khem, here, she was turned down.

The fate of the first wife and Ramphueng is intrinsically bonded. They became the mirror of one another and it was always because of the hurt they had to bear.

the moment that had me sobbing in the Khemjira finale was when Ramphueng and Khem connected in their memories of their past lives. You could see that they both felt all of their own and each other's pain. Ramphueng remembering how excited Khem was to see her baby and realizing that Khem had to see their baby brother die as well and finally seeing that Khem truly regretted what happened. Khem feels that pain of what happened to both of them and understands the horribleness of that and his contribution to that and his regret. Ramphueng finally letting the pain that she had been avoiding with her anger actually affected her and then letting it go. Khem acknowledged her pain and the pain she had caused him and the people around him and felt that and then also let go of what could have been his own revenge and ended the cycle of revenge and pain. Ramphueng was able to work out her karma so she could come back to her son which is what she always wanted. Khem got to live out his life with the person that he loves in peace. What a perfect ending 😭

Anyone ever think about how Khem’s ancestral bloodline isn’t actually responsible at all for Ramphueng’s baby being murdered?

I think of this quite a bit.

She felt rightfully angry that Krongkhwan and her mother, Kakanang, lied to the father. And then that man sent her to be whipped and tortured.

But Ketkaew, the actual murderer, had lost multiple pregnancies/babies, and thus no actual bloodline descendants to curse.

So, all that anger and betrayal got solidified onto Kakanang and Krongkhwan’s bloodline.

Like, do I think it’s a bit irrational to haunt Khem saying things basically blaming him for his past life’s version being the cause of her losing her son?

Yeah, I do… because Krongkhwan lied, sure, but wasn’t the reason for the son’s murder. Also, she was like, what five or six?

Sure, would it have been great if she had told the truth? Absolutely. But she was a terrified and traumatized (she did witness her half brother being murdered by her father’s first wife) child who listened to their mother who probably also seemed frantic and terrified. I mean, Ketkaew so easily murdered a baby, what was to stop her from murdering a kid that won’t do what she wants?

So truly, while I understand the anger, hell even the bloodline curse (because Krongkhwan’s bloodline is her mother’s and father’s and both of them and Ketkaew were to blame for the torture she endured), the actual blame should have been laid at the feet of the adults, not a child doing what they were told to do.

Like, Khem being cursed is fine, but Khem being blamed isn’t. 🤷‍♀️

Although, mad respect for Ramphueng holding onto her anger for as long as she did and still serving looks from the afterlife.💅👸

So many people died this episode, my heart...

We understand Ramphueng better now, but with that understanding, was it really necessary to curse a child in that situation? The adults are obviously complict, but the child was only following their limited understanding of the situation and choosing the option to cause the least harm.

So yes, she had a right to curse them, what they did was cruel and unforgivable, but it shouldn't have been THAT extensive of a revenge. We're talking about over FOUR CENTURIES of killing every person involved and their descendants to the point of extinction.

The servants are complict up to a point (servants don't really have any say, but there is a difference between following orders and being a co-conspirator), kill them violently if you must, sure, but the only ones that should have had their bloodline wiped out was the Master and the Madam, Khem's ancestor not included because again, she's just a child.

And look at how much hate she still has while dealing with Khemjira, as the last one in the curse. There's no way she'd be sated with Khem's death as she claims. This whole thing has been taken too far and there's no peace for her at the end this way. That's my take in it.
